Good inventory if you are stopping by once a year or so, but if you are a regular expect to see the same coins. Prices are not too competitive but Roy is willing to work with you.
Wide selection of coins, he's a great man and will put things on hold for you as long as you'll come back later to get them he negotiates, tells lessons, shows you pictures, and genuinely a great store with low prices and crazy cool coins and dollar bills
Roy at Legal Tender Coin is great, I always look forward to the conversation with him. He used to work on old IBM computers that read in punch cards with 15 bit bytes and will tell you the history of every aspect of US money. I thought that I knew the story but he's surprised me with new knowledge every time I've gone in. For instance, he has legal US banknotes with "First National Bank of Eau Claire" as the issuer printed on them.
Took my wife’s coin collection in to be appraised and was not disappointed. Owner is very knowledgeable and comes across as trustworthy. Shop is very clean and friendly in appearance. I felt like I got a fair market value for my coin collection. Would recommend this coin dealer for needed coin appraisals.
Not for you if you are looking for bullion and not a huge selection because its a smaller place but still 5 stars. What he has is very nice. Nice selection of Morgans. Cool bargain table for low end and beginners. I love the decor and the owner is very friendly even though he knew I was looking for silver rounds and bars. I did buy some junk silver but could have spent hours looking at the interesting containers people have brought coins in and just talking coins with the owner.
