The owner Marty is so friendly to me and my family. He takes time to share his extensive knowledge about coins. He knows their history, value, and all kinds of fun trivia. His selection is great and his prices are more than fair. I've priced him against some online places and he gives better deals. Plus, no online place is going to take the time to teach you about coins and help you pick the best one that suits your needs.
Marty is the best coin dealer I’ve ever felt with. He is knowledgeable and has very fair pricing. It’s alway a pleasure to visit his shop.
If I were looking for a coin shop, I would definitely not go here. I pulled into a parking spot in front of his store early this morning to let my daughter run into an art store next-door. I was there literally 45 seconds when he comes out rudely and told me I must move. The store was not even open. If he had come out nicely and politely asked me to move my car it would not have been a big problem, but to be so rude and grumpy about it is ridiculous. If and when I am looking for a coin store, I will go to Seattle.
I like it here. I've only had positive experiences. I've only had good conversations with the owner. I've only ever left feeling good about my purchases. I'm primarily interested in US coins and stacking silver. I find that I usually grab a silver eagle, a morgan or peace dollar, and whatever looks cool... a 90% silver proof quarter, a standing liberty, maybe a war nickel, or a toned mercury dime, a large head penny. It's seriously fun to just bring a hundred bucks and look around.
I called and asked about appraising a coin collection I inherited. I know almost nothing about coins and their values, but the gentleman I spoke to (I'm sorry I didn't get your name!) was extremely kind and honest, and gently corrected me on some misinformation I had gotten online lol. He gave me a lot of good info that I really appreciate. If I end up getting into collecting after this, this is the shop I'm going to!
