We stopped in 9 minutes before they closed to look for one specific piece of furniture. The rude staff member, a man with an ear piece in, said "we're closed" as we walked past him. We said we have 9 minutes sir. We're looking for one item. He followed us through the store and rudely said "y'all have to leave, we're closing". There were people in line still checking out and there were still a few minutes to shop for what we we've in there for. This man's attitude was so intensely rude that we decided to shop antiques elsewhere. He possibly cost their booth leasing customers a nice sell unfornately for them. We shop here regular and have for 19 years. There are too many nice shops to spend our money at instead of shopping where the customer is treated so disrespectfully. He was ready to go home early. Very unprofessional.
By far the largest, most diverse collection of antiques around Houston. Very much worth an visit if you're in the area
Huge place! Definitely need a least a couple hours to look at all the booths.
Overall pricing is on the high side (even when items are marked 'on sale' which would make them after the discount only a fair price and not a good deal. ) The true antique items pricing were really varied, art deco and mcm era pricing was moderate, and a lot of the vintage and shabby chic overpriced. There are also food and drink options here which can make the establishment more inviting if the milling various booths becomes too overwhelming, which is a nice touch. I noticed a lot of the quality of items in some vendor booths were not cleaned and some even had notes in the booths saying to call or text them, but then would never respond in a timely manner. I found this sort of confusing due to the nature of leaving the number would be to instill a way to make contact to make a better deal, but if anything it just makes it more frustrating. The vendor selection has changed quite a bit over the last year or so and unfortunately the newer ones are not as good as the ones that have moved on from here.
The Antique Gallery of Houston is an absolute treasure. Walking in feels like stepping into another world where every corner has something unique and beautiful to discover. The experience was absolutely incredible, and I already know this is a place I will be visiting again and again. You can easily get lost in here for hours because there is so much to see. Each booth and section has its own personality, and it is impossible not to stop and admire the history and stories behind the pieces. One of the things that stood out to me most was how warm and welcoming the entire atmosphere is. The customer service is wonderful. Everyone I interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They make you feel at home while you explore, and that kind of energy makes the experience even more special. What makes it even better is that they also serve food, so you can take a break, enjoy a bite to eat, and then get right back to exploring. It truly turns a shopping trip into an experience. You are not just browsing through antiques, you are spending the day enjoying yourself, finding unexpected treasures, and being part of something that feels meaningful. This is exactly the kind of place we should support more. I say letβs start buying local and filling this place up. There are so many incredible finds here that you simply cannot get anywhere else. From furniture and dΓ©cor to unique gifts and one-of-a-kind pieces, the selection is endless. Every time you go, you are bound to find something new that catches your eye. The Antique Gallery of Houston is more than just a store. It is an experience that celebrates history, creativity, and community. If you want to enjoy the finer things in life, slow down, and appreciate something truly special, this is the place to be. I cannot recommend it enough, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
this is one of my favorite antique places in all of the houston metropolitan area!!! I visit almost weekly, everyone that works here is so friendly and helpful. I love to search the store for my next finds, and when summertime is around itβs one of the best places to walk around indoors.
Nice and clean store. A lot of really good and valuable items. Staff is friendly and helpful. But when it comes to paying and cashier...OMG. The shop was not crowded, but we have waited for more than 45 minutes in line to pay our stuff. Unbelievable...apart from that, worth to visit.
