Disgustingly horrible experience. Owner and wife immediately looked disgusted as I walked in. After offering to sell an ounce of silver, they gave me a very low price incredibly below spot, the owner then proceeded to literally call me names, cursed up and down, threw my money at me, and kept cursing as I walked out. It felt very racially-driven as I was the only one treated this way and the only person in the store with colored skin.

First time going to this shop and my experience was memorable in the worst way. My boyfriend and I came in to sell a coin he’s had since he was a kid, and we were told this was the place to go. When we got the offer he asked politely if there was any way we could round it up (it was only a couple dollars) and immediately we were met with “don’t be a wise ass, you’re coming in here I’m giving you a fair price and you’re being a wise ass I’ll drop it down if that’s the case” had I known that we were going to be met with such disrespect I’d have never stepped foot into this building. I didn’t think it was too much to ask to round it up, and a simple no would have sufficed. And from other people’s experiences I’m surprised they haven’t been shut down due to their lack of customer service. If you’re too old and cranky to treat people with respect you shouldn’t be running a business. Period. I do not recommend you come here if you don’t want to be utterly disappointed with how you’re treated. Especially when ultimately you’re profiting off of your customers bringing you coins.

Visit this Coin shop from out of town. The owners are an elderly couple who opened up their shop for a few days a week. The couple answered any questions I had and showed me other coins they had in stock. I found a great selection of US and foreign coins and currency. I will be visiting this shop again when in town.

My husband and I took our son to collect quarters for his state coin book we got off Amazon and we had a pleasant experience. The elderly couple was extremely sweet to our son , very patient and helpful. We plan on coming back by Halloween.

The owner of the shop is very rude my son came in to spend a couple of thousand on some silver or gold coins and was asking questions and told him he didn't have time and would pass on his purchase because he wanted to learn a little more about what he was buying the owner told him to go home and do his own research instead of trying to help him out. He said he didn't have time to explain anything and we were the only ones in the shop. You shouldn't go there even if that was the last shop selling gold or silver. And also I think he turned us because we look Hispanic.

I’ve been meaning to drop in here for years, and finally today I did. The owners (husband & wife) were very kind and he spent some time with me teaching me a little bit about the coins that I brought in to get his thoughts on. The depth of knowledge that Mr. Rufer has is amazing; the guy knows more about coins than I know about darn near anything! I can’t wait to come back with my kids to introduce them to the treasures here, oh and to show them the coins, too.
