Great and amazing stuff but very very overpriced. Be prepared to just look and not buy

Very cool place! So much to see and buy. Or sell your stuff to them. Make sure to check around every corner because you never know what is in it.

If you only visit one store in Austin, make it Uncommon Objects. Tucked along South Congress Avenue, this sprawling antique and curiosity shop is less a retail store and more an experience β€” a living, breathing cabinet of wonders that manages to feel both wildly eccentric and deeply personal every single time you walk through the door. The moment you step inside, time seems to slow down. Every inch of space is filled with something remarkable: Victorian taxidermy, vintage oil paintings, obscure medical instruments, mid-century jewelry, hand-stitched textiles, old tin signs, and oddities you couldn’t name if you tried. The curation here is unlike anything you’ll find at a standard antique mall. Each vendor’s booth tells its own story, and together they weave an atmosphere that is unmistakably, unapologetically Austin. What truly sets Uncommon Objects apart is the sheer quality of the finds. This isn’t a place you come to sort through broken junk β€” it’s a place you come to discover something that feels like it was waiting specifically for you. Whether you’re a serious collector hunting a particular era or style, or simply someone who appreciates beautiful and strange things, you will leave with something you didn’t know you needed. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and refreshingly unobtrusive β€” they let you wander and explore at your own pace, but are always on hand when you have a question about an item’s provenance or price. There’s never any pressure, just a shared appreciation for the unusual and the beautiful. I’ve visited Uncommon Objects a dozen times and have never once had the same experience twice. The inventory turns over constantly, which means every visit genuinely feels like the first. I’ve picked up gifts here that friends still talk about years later, and I’ve found pieces for my own home that anchor entire rooms. If you love history, art, design, the strange, or the sentimental β€” or if you simply believe that objects carry souls β€” Uncommon Objects is your place. It is, without question, one of the most special shops in the country. Do yourself a favor: go on a weekday morning, bring cash, and set aside more time than you think you’ll need. You’ll thank yourself later.

I love this place. I haven't been able to afford anything yet, but I'm going to keep trying. πŸ™‚

It truly is an interesting place. But as someone who traverses these kind of stores across the state on the regular, this place is really only a staple you bring your out of town friends to show them something funky akin to Cathedral of Junk and not much more. The price gouging, to be truthful, is borderline shameless and unreasonably high; especially when bulk of the inventory is resold stock out of other antique stores ( of which you should totally visit and support ) like Bonneville in Coleman, Junk n' Disorderly in Brownwood, and many others in Blanco, Salado, Hutto/Taylor, Floresville, and estate sales in San Marcos and New Braunfels. (Deets in photos) That being said, many of the booths are finely curated, but the distinction of 'premium' marquee is a bit of a joke with overall pricing higher than many Dallas and Houston antique establishments. It might have been more acceptable when Uncommon was on the Congress drag, but it feels like the vendors are banking on the Uncommon Objects brand to justify the pricing than the object being sold. If you're interested in similiar curiosities vibe and taxidermy without the sticker shock of UO, I'd strongly suggest more affordable antique alternatives like The Man Shack Antiques off Menchaca or The Parlor in Temple. If you need need a kitsch fix, Room Service off North Loop. Surly signage? Antiques N' More in Buda. Old World, Primitive, European not to mention stellar mcm is always stocked at Armadillo Antiques and Voght auctions in San Antonio. (Who also oversaw Shelley Duvall's estate sale in Blanco.) And again, not saying this place doesn't have its charm, but there are a lot of better alternatives out there rocking much better deals and just as much if not more character.

Uncommon Objects – A Treasure Hunt Like No Other Absolutely worth the drive β€” Uncommon Objects lives up to its name and then some. Every inch of the space is packed with bizarre, beautiful, curious, and one-of-a-kind finds. It feels like stepping into a museum curated by the world’s most interesting collector, but everything is for sale. You’ll find vintage oddities, antique pieces, art, taxidermy, ephemera β€” stuff you didn’t know you needed until you saw it. The layout is thoughtful, the vibe is eclectic and welcoming, and the staff is helpful without hovering. If you love the weird, the rare, and the storied, this place is a must. One of the coolest shopping experiences in Texas.

We wandered into Uncommon Objects on our San Antonio-Austin trip, and it was a highlight for sure. The store is not only expertly curated but really thoughfully and beautifully laid out. From their jewelry to ceramics, glassware and artwork, it almost feels like walking through a museum. Every corner reveals something new and intriguing. Staff were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We were so happy we visited during our trip!

So many odd objects, lots of treasure antiques or all staffs. Found an Asia guan-in with child statue and few natural crystals quite appealing. Store is organized and service people is nice. It is worth to come to visit and you may find your losing treasures.
