This place is amazing. The staff is great a lot of cool items. And they pertty much give you spot for your gold and silver. Unlike another company down the street from them.

Best selection in Columbus

Speaking from my experience, they sell stuff. Big variety. Fair markups. Best shop to buy coins -- and gold and silver, bar (pun) none. The cost over spot is minimal compared to anywhere else that Ive personally bought from in Columbus (not counting the rare FB marketplace goofballs at 2am) My only qualm? They don't buy stuff. Which is a bummer. Still appreciate the business when I need some silver or want to do some coin related stuff. I'd probably rate it a 6 out of 5 if they bought stuff as well as sold stuff, I feel like it almost goes hand in hand. Anyways, buy your stuff here. If you're local, lucky you. If you're not local, make the trip. It'll put your local coin shop to shame in comparison. Silver makes for the perfect birthday gift, or keeping your money safe against inflation in a time that potentially looks the crash of the US dollar is looming. Investing in metals has historically always been solid investment advice. (This is not financial or investment advice, just my opinion on the observed market trend data over time.)

I have been in four times in recent weeks to sell a large amount of jewelry. First, let me say that the people watching in this place is insane. Like, I have rarely been so entertained; this was a world I knew nothing about. I could sit in there all day and just soak it in, the people coming in to sell and buy. FASCINATING. Are you hiring? LOL But, to the important part: the people working were all so nice! Are they schmoozers who are going to kiss up to you when you come in? No! Some of these reviewers on here seem to think these guys were going to lose their minds at whatever sack of coins they brought in. Nope, they are here to do business, and I am sure they have seen it all. Everyone who helped me when I came in was kind, efficient, and treated me respectfully. They looked at my stuff, made me an offer, and paid me. That’s what I wanted. Now if anyone needs me to go with them to sell anything, CALL ME! Because I want to go back!

I am just so stunned at how beautiful my rings came out. I had to get them resized before my wedding. They were so fast and helpful. I am completely blown away and am so happy with the results.

I won't trust them handling anything from my collection again. I brought a couple bills from 1830's-1850's. I brought them in because I wanted to properly store and secure them as well as get them authenticated. Well one of the old bills was larger than the rest and wouldn't fit into the flimsy plastic protectors so he brings out the BCW hard case. I figured he has more experience at this than me so I allowed him to put the bill in for me, I regret that decision. With sweat beads on his brow, he placed the bill into the case, pressed the top on and walks me over to the register. While I'm waiting for him to ring me up I look at the bill in the case and I notice paper coming out of the case, mind you is in a snap lock case, so the bill is creased. After noticing he nonchalantly says oops sorry, gets a flimsy alternative and still proceeded to check me out with the snap lock case still in the total. All in all, I don't think they handled the situation well at all. He really didn't seem to care. What would have happened if the roles were reversed and I had done that to an almost 200 year old bill of theirs?? It's been over a month since this happened, and Im not usually one to write bad reviews, but the more I think about what happened the more I feel the need to share my experience.

I came in as a new collector and should've done more research. I purchased a 1958 Franklin Half - D - "AU" condition. It was just stapled in a coin sleeve, not actually graded. I'm not complaining about the condition. The price was $62. Looking online the same day they were charging basically double what melt value would've been for a not rare coin. They had also sold me a 1944 walker half the day prior for $72. Which is double what it's valued. I know im new. I know you're a company and need to turn a profit. I won't be returning. Buckeye gold and silver down the road less than a mile took care of me and gave me the rundown and sold to me for a fair price. I would avoid Allen's.
