I was a little reluctant to drive nearly an hour to this spot all the way in North Olmsted. Seeking to get a value placed on less than 10g of gold, I visited five other gold buyers throughout the Cleveland area that had a 4.0 overall Google rating or higher. Carat Coin was hands down the best place to make a stop when looking to get a quote on my gold. It was welcoming, quick & attentive, and the rep there didn’t shy away from giving me a quote for pieces that I didn’t want to sell, just get a quote. To be specific, Carat Coin’s estimate was $300 higher than two of the five other estimates I received from highly rated spots . $300 is a HUGE difference. I’m only writing this review because I started off researching places myself and this whole experience made me realize there are tons of predatory buyers out there. By visiting five highly rated locations around the Cleveland area, I want others to know that if you are looking to sell your gold, get treated like a human being, get an estimate on the value of your gold—make this your first stop. Definitely get other estimates. But if Carat Coin is higher and give your more “coins” for your “carats”, leave a review.

For my first time ever scraping broken jewelry I had an excellent experience at Carrot Coin in North Olmsted. They were extremely professional from start to finish and offered me a great price for my scrap gold. I also brought in some pieces from my “rainy day” collection, and they appraised them very generously. To double-check, I later had the same items evaluated at Stow Coin Exchange, and their offer was $40 less than what Carrot Coin gave me. That confirmed for me that Carrot Coin is honest, fair, and truly the best place to go. I strongly recommend Carrot Coin to anyone looking to sell scrap gold. No need to look anywhere else—seriously these guys deliver great service and great prices. Keep up the excellent work!

The owner is hands-on, knowledgeable, and always willing to wheel and deal. He’s fair, transparent, and consistently pays very well. The crew is amazing too—friendly, sharp, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you’re selling, buying, or just browsing, they make the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re into coins or precious metals this is the place to go. A solid 5-star shop all around.

Best gold shop I've ever been to in my life. They are so kind and respectful. BEST gold exchange prices as well. Went there to sell a little bit of cold and The price came out to $472.. he handed me $500 in cash and said "Merry Christmas". Then, an old lady came around the counter to handed my autistic 2 year old son a brand new seashell necklace (with the tag still on it) as a gift. It's service like this that is nearly impossible to find in society today when it comes to customer service in general, but I was lucky enough to stumble upon it at this establishment. Small mom and pop businesses like this or the backbone of our country. They've gained a lifelong customer and I will be singing their praises to anybody and everybody from now on. Hands down one of the top coin shops I’ve gotten to go to. I’m typically more of a coin show guy and because my options are limited where I’m from for a good all around shop. Today I got to visit Carat Coin and had the pleasure of having Maroon take care of my deal. Soon as I entered the door, despite being absolutely slammed with customers (crazzzzzy market lol), I was greeted immediately by a very courteous and happy fella behind the counter. While I waited I just kind of listened and took in how things were being done and handled. They’re A+ is all there is to it. Despite just how insanely they were. They joked. Handled business. Continued to greet the many more who came in the door. Still answered phone calls. Didn’t rush anyone. My experience was phenomenal. Everyone else was kind of in the same reason for being there, while I was there partially there to let go of some silver. I was more interested in getting some graded numismatic stuff. Maroon took care of my silver stuff and grabbed me some graded stuff and we talked through the deal. Listen. Plain and simple this place is super professional and a place with amazing customer service. Superb fairness, even in a wild market to be trying to figure out at the moment. From walking in the door to leaving —— it was handled as good as it could be done. Thanks a million, Maroon and staff! Wished your store was closer to where I live lol
