I took my young son to the store today. He just started collecting and was hoping hoping to get a few cool coins to add to his collection. The owner, John, was more helpful than anyone could expect. We had went to a couple shops prior and were depressed by the expensive prices and snobby employees after they realized we weren't after pricy items. John took his time to explain a lot about the coins to my son. He showed us old coins that have seen better days..but were EXACTLY what we wanted. A pile of old coins my son viewed as the ultimate treasure! We were able to get a bunch for generous prices. We walked out with some starter kits, some exciting old coins and smiles on our faces. I cannot thank John enough for making it such a positive experience for my son.. If more people were like him, there might be more young collectors out there.

John is an awesome guy and more than fair in all transactions - selling or buying. I recently sold some silver to John, both US Mint and secondary market silver coins and one ounce silver pieces - very happy with valuations - once again more than fair. Also sold some silver currency - half dollars and quarters - John took the time to look through every coin and tell me which ones had greater value and paid out accordingly. I recently also bought some Morgan and Peace Dollars, and again his prices were very fair. I still have some more coin transactions to do, and rest assured I’m going back to his shop! I seldom take the time to write reviews, but I think John (A&D Gold and Silver) is an exceptional local business and I highly recommend him and his shop! 5 Stars for sure!

John is such an amazing guy and every experience I have with him is a real pleasure. He is always looking to help people out and he is very honest and always looking to give you the very best price whether you’re buying or selling. I just bought a gorgeous pistol from the 1850’s at a price that was almost too good to be true. I love telling people about this shop and I hope more and more people give this man the business that he deserves. John is one of the most professional dealers I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and I can’t wait to visit again soon!

Didn't understand troy weight conversions on silver. I was offering to sell a set of silver coins to this place below spot price because I'm a reasonable person and understand businesses need to make a profit. He kept insisting he wasn't interested in paying a "premium" because I told him $54/Oz - and he didn't understand that I didn't mean $54 per coin. Absolutely clueless. Update: now the owner replies to my review to misrepresent the conversation we had. Excellent. Best of luck to you as well
