This place has an amazing collection of coins, antiques, and much more. The gentleman was very polite, and he is extremely knowledgeable.
Very poor service and communication. We paid for a medal in November 2024, was told then it would be a couple weeks. We have tried to call the shop numerous times, but no one answers, and there is no way to leave a message. Now, Feb 28, 2025, still no medal and no call back.
I have been doing business here for years. Mario is always very friendly, honest & knowledgeable. He’s been a fantastic & reliably fair person to do business with. He’s always been well supplied even when there’s been turbulent markets and/or unusual supply-side issues. Despite even those pressures, Mario has always been more than fair with the going market “premium pricing” rates on precious metals/bullion. I’d argue he has the best pricing around IMO. I have NEVER had an issue where he hasn’t paid [or traded for] fair market value either. I have done business at other coin shops & I can honestly say Mario has ALWAYS treated me the best & been the most consistent/reliable guy out there. Mario is a no BS, honest straight-shooter kind of guy. We are privileged to have someone like him running a small merchant business in our community. I have been proud to refer my own neighbors & a few of my family members & friends to him as well. All of them continue to enjoy doing business with Mario to this day.
Don’t go here if your selling place smells and is freezing cold short older guy with glasses gave me a horribly low ball offer on a 14k gold ring and didn’t wanna show me the scale definitely go somewhere else
Great place for jewelry, coins, watch repairs and battery replacement. Bring cash for anything below $50. Owner is a great guy.
The owner was really friendly and incredibly helpful! He helped me size my watch and resize my wedding ring. The fee to do so was about $30 and when I had my ring returned, it fit perfectly and it was even polished for me. The location is right next to PJ’s Bar and Tavern so it’s located right in the heart of Sycamore. Next time I have jewelry repair needs, I definitely plan on returning to this location. 👍👍
Don’t go here!! They offered me 50% less value than the freaking pawn shop! Offered me 100 for a real gold diamond wedding ring. What a joke go to bridge pawn wayyyyy better service and knowledge.
