Great selection of both bullion and numismatics, fair prices, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff/owner(s) in my opinion. This is not a hard five stars to give.

PLEASE READ To preface: I am an independent numismatist who has been buying/selling/trading rare coins for over 15 years, and am an active ANA member. I thoroughly understand both the bullion & numismatic market. I was looking to sell some gold and reinvest, so came to give this newbie shop a chance. While I cannot attest to the buying experience here, or their prices, I will caution any potential sellers against selling their coins here. Was promised competitive rates online prior to my visit. Apparently, “we pay more than our local competitors” is just a slogan, because they offered the worst price on my gold that I’ve yet received (12 offers and counting). They pay a flat rate 93% of spot for everything, regardless of any potential numismatic value. Most bullion dealers in the area pay 95% minimum, although 96% is not uncommon. To put it simply, I was offered roughly $1000 under current melt value (I calculated before arriving), not factoring in a few coins’ particular scarcity and the premiums that come with it. It was a shockingly poor value assessment. Conclusion: Christians Coins is simply a glorified bullion dealer, and thats okay. Just don’t come here and expect real numismatic expertise, because that is clearly deficient. If you are looking to sell truly rare coins, there are much better avenues for doing that. Even if selling pure bullion, you will be offered far better rates at numerous local shops and online at Apmex, JM Bullion, and Liberty Coin. Response to Owner: The only two items that were not near pristine BU or Proof were the 2 1793 guineas. This is not abnormal nor does it eliminate all numismatic value as you falsely claimed. If you dealt often with 1700s gold, you would find that not a single example sells for under $200 premium. I invite you to educate yourself and do the necessary research. An MS 1907 St Gaudens is not just a “single double eagle”, this is a semi key date with significant eye appeal. You can downplay this all you want, but the truth is that the majority of the pieces I brought in are actively selling online for premiums, some significant. Even if you only deal with American coins (which is mostly true), I’m not sure of anyone who would think an offer of 93% of spot is a fair offer. In any case, this same gold which you offered under $10k for was sold the very next day for over $1000 more, an offer that is far more reasonable. I will not be visiting again.

Went to Christian’s Coins on Main St. in Mt. Horeb. On a mission to get my Godson a special coin for his birthday. Arriving in the quaint town of Mt. Horeb I found Christian’s coins easy, it’s in a great location. The building it’s in is beautiful. I was greeted by Christian who was really friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable! He took his time showing me phenomenal pieces and sharing great information. I learned quite a bit. The selection of coins is outstanding!!! The prices are reasonable and with Christian’s help I found the perfect coin! I will be back for sure!!! Whether you are an avid coin collector, dabble in the hobby or just curious you won’t be disappointed.

I went out to Christian’s Coins for their grand opening and the layout was very spacious and inviting. I did bring some graded coins along, as I wanted to see what they would offer and I was blown away at the cash offer I received. Christian has a level of knowledge when it comes to coins that is out of this world, especially for his age. If anyone has any coins they are considering selling it is worth your time to see what they offer. I’m not much of a “stacker” but I will mention that the silver selection was 5 stars with extremely fair pricing.
