This place was the most amazing experience that my grandson and I have ever had. The Lady that helped us (sooo sorry I didn’t get her name) was knowledgeable, patient and answered all our questions and offered ideas to further our knowledge. She did all this with a line waiting which I didn’t realize until I turned around! I would highly recommend this store!

I had to put a one star because they make you pick one, however if I could give them a negative -466566 billion stars I would!!. Do NOT Go here! I had a whole binder of very expensive coins that I did not know were expensive and very valuable. And they took such advantage of me. They took the entire book for what I could’ve got for about three coins. And now they’re selling them for so much more than I was told they were worth had no idea as I was new at this, and I was asking for help to see how much it would be. Took total advantage of me and screwed me out of thousands of dollars!! Do not go here I will never go here again ever!! Those coins were my parents and they passed away and I was trying to see how much they would be just for a value, but what I got told was nothing close to the truth. NOTHING even close to the truth!! will never go there again nor will I ever forgive them for how low they will go for sale. They will take total advantage of you. They will tell you lies just so they can get what they want out of you. DO NOT GO HERE EVER!! Pick any other place to go but if you pick this place, you will regret it as I did. Its disgusting how they could take such advantage of me and my precious coins. It makes me sick that I believe them and lost everything for what three coins in my parents collection were worth, and their collection was huge. This store is vile with horrible people. Whatever you do pick any other store, but do not go here!!!

Always a joy to drop in. They don't mind dropping some education on you of you ask. Honest, reliable, and extremely helpful. I called and asked how much I could get for my silver rounds. The technician ask me if I could wait a few days because the dealers were charging higher than normal premiums. I'd get more in my pocket if I could wait a few days for "the dust to settle." I did and I DID!

Arrived on the good-faith recomendation of a local shop (that'd normally be their competition) to trade-up a small amout of coins in my collection. Between their trade margin, and sale margin, they came out a smidge over $15 at day/point-of-trade in value per coin. And I'm super happy! I did my homework in advance and had a good idea of a reasonable range for a dealer to need. $30 might sounds like a lot to someone, however this is a small local business with fixed expenses and overhead, whether inventory moves or not. And that value is not immediately realized as profit. The precious metal market can be volatile and the shop could see both a substantial gain AND/OR loss in the market value of unsold inventory. They have to calculate trade and sell price-points that allow them to stay in business, and account for the possibility of taking a market loss every so often. Upsides I got for that unrealized $30 melt value advantage to a small local business: + Collection coin upgrade to .9999 (from .9 purity). + GORGEOUS clean investment grade coin (especially compared to what I brought in). + a back-dated newer year, from a reputable mint, with anti-forgery features (compared to the older condition coins I traded). + technology industrial grade fine silver coins. + included for, no extra cost, protective flips and capsuls for my new coins. + enjoyed straight forward, respectful customer service, transparent and honest valuation, and their ability without hesitation to entertain a micro-trade during cray-cray market swings Their margins are perfectly reasonable for a small local business. They gotta keep lights on, rent paid, pay city/county/state/federal taxes and business fees (among others!), AND still pay a living wage to their employees, and make one themselves! I look forward to doing more trades and business with them in the future, and supporting a local American owned small business.

This is a coin shop where you can actually feel relaxed, comfortable, and have a pleasant shopping experience. I've been here twice and both times I walk away extremely happy. They are polite, courteous, and treat me with respect. The cherry on top is their incredible selection of inventory + they always seem to have some good deals. 10/10 recommend Dakota Coin & Precious Metals!
