Eckenrode's Rare Coins & Precious Metals

Sounded like a good place to get supplies and get some coins and jewelry pieces evaluated. Unfortunately, the internet posted hours and actual hours did not match. So it was a wasted and disappointing trip for new collectors.

This location has been open for over 20 years and has amazing collector coins and currency. They also have jewelry and you can buy or sell any of the above.

Brought in some coins I recieved as a gift from a relative. Super friendly staff that provided a great education on each coin. Everyone was helpful, took time to explain each individual attribute of the coins, and clearly have a love for collectibles. Very knowledgeable, reasonable, and honest.

The store is clean and pleasant giving them two stars. I visited in early Jan. with two pristine Golden Eagles. Spot price was $1950. They told me they could give me $1780. (!!!) The man rose from his desk and said "you would expect that we would make $100 for our transaction". (!!) But it was $170 per coin...so I would have lost $340 on that deal. I take it they do not give reasonable deals on transactions. I would highly suggest Steinmetz and/or Greg Hughes in Highspire instead...they are fair and reputable.

Never been to the physical location since i live in colorado, but I have to say.. their ebay store is amazing! The guy running the ebay store is super helpful, always answers all my questions and is knowledgeable. Thank you Eckenrode coins! Highly recommend this store!!!!!

Solid guys here. I'm not a collector, but if you are and never stopped in before, I highly recommend it. Huge inventory at all price points, lots of beautiful items to peruse. I got a very reasonable rate for a bunch of inherited Morgans and Peace dollars, and really appreciated that they were willing to go into great depth about why "X" fetches "$X.00" and "Y" fetches "$Y000.00". I stopped in at a couple other central PA coin shops previously, and I was treated like an invalid who was just an annoyance. A++ I'll definitely be back. Thanks gentlemen, this is how it should be done.
