I recently visited Long Island Rare Coins in Massapequa and it was a brilliant experience! In Ireland its hard to come by stores like this as coin stores seem to be disappearing however, there still seems to be great stores over here in the US. The owner was very personable, professional and informative and I had a brilliant chat with him. He never made me feel that I was under pressure to purchase anything and was really interested in what collections that I have gathered at my sode of the pond. He also took the time to go over a number of items that he had on display and he was very informative about the history behind coin collecting in the US. The shop is very nice and well laid out. Their main business is on-line so don't worry if you can't find what you are look for in store. Hopefully in the not too distant future I will get a chance to return and pick up something nice. I highly recommend stopping by Long Island Rare Coins and you might just find something really nice!
I went there to test a piece of gold. They’re awesome, so relaxed and don’t pressure you either. If there’s one place I recommend to shop gold and silver it’s here.
I recently visited Long Island Rare Coins and Currency. I had a great experience with Buddy. I had some silver coins as well as some packaged collectable coins. Buddy took the time to look up each one and explain the value or lack of for each one. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and honest.
