I love this place I do storage lockers. I never figured out how I could go to five pawn shops and come here and I get three times more here. I love the honesty and the fairness and never tries to rob you blind. He's always been fair with me and always told me the truth. If you haven't been here, give him a shot. You won't be disappointed.

The owner Jim of this place is a very honest straightforward guy he doesn't try to rip you off like most places do. He will give you a fair price on what you bring in and he'll even take the time to look up stuff and the value of it even if you're not pawning it or selling it. I highly recommend going there!!!!! I've brought in jewelry there jim has given me great numbers on it for stuff I've sold or pawned. Definitely one of the best places in Harford county!!!!

In 2024, days before my mom died in front of me as I was her hospice caregiver, she gave me a ring she promised me my whole life. It was her wedding ring with my dad, sapphires (my birth stone) surrounded my diamonds. After my mom died, my husband’s dad died, my husband lost his job, and our lives fell apart. We lost our home and spent a summer living out of our vehicle with our 3 kids. During that time we’d developed a rapport with the owner of this establishment. I’d reluctantly hand my ring over every time my family was in dire need of money, but let him know frequently the love and care I had for this ring as it was my only piece of jewelry from my dead mother. In October, my husband dropped the ring off for us. He was told “don’t worry guys I know what this means to you I won’t let anything happen to it.” We returned in December with the news he’d sold it the week before. “I tried to call” he said. Business is business and clearly to hold a ring for 5-6 weeks would have been too damaging. I cried and begged to buy it back from whoever bought it for extra. He let me know eventually after I called back that he sold it to a wholesale jewelry buyer who melts the jewelry down. I begged him to ask if the ring could be saved. I had to call for updates as he told me the guy was searching for it, he’d call me. Eventually when I called he told me the ring was gone. It took some time to even get to the business in November and December during operating hours as the business was often closed at times that it should be open on the door. Whether it had closed early, with or without a note, not opened on time, etc. There were numerous times that I TRIED to stop by before the day in December I found out my ring was gone. I had overlooked all of his personal issues sticking to normal business hours because I was trusting him as a person. Business is business babe. My bad. I can never replace what he needlessly took away from my family. My daughter will never grow to inherit a piece of jewelry from her grandmother because it was more important that at a time where we could barely house and feed ourselves, Starlite Pawn had to line its pockets. Great job.

I have been to several pawn shops in the area and Starlite is by far the best! Jim is always friendly, respectful and fair. Its not fun having to take your items to a pawn shop because you need some extra help until you get paid but here you will not feel judged. Jim is understanding and always gives you a fair price. As long as you communicate with him, he will even work with you if you need a couple extra days to pick up your items. I feel secure when my items are here until I can return to pick them up and would recommend this place to anyone to pawn, sell or even purchase because he also has great items for sale. Always a great experience!

As far as PawnShops go this is the best in Maryland....Yes the entire state!!! As far as customer service let me say this The owner Jim is going to be marrying me and my Fiance(He is Ordained). We have been dealing with Jim and his family for years now and I'm happy to say they are family!!! Your not going to find better prices on any merch he has available and your not going to get more money anywhere else for your belongings....And b4 you ask ladies yes I brought her ring from Jim to !!! Its not enough stars here to give ....stop in and see for yourself!!!

My personal experience at starlite coin & pawn has been great. Mr James is nice, courteous, and professional. He's given me several different options to my needs so I can pick the best one and I feel he's been more than fair...if you have needs for this kind service I highly recommend starlite!!
