Have been coming here for about 15 years on and off. Always thought these guys were totally legit. I think some of the bad reviews here are from people thinking they had something special when they didn't. ✌️
Great place for all sorts of coins, metals, and collectables. Been going here for years and its always the same helpful staff.
All business, walked in and was immediately greeted and my coin taken to be valued. It was$105 more than the first place I went, and I was in and out with the cash in about 5 minutes. To be clear,, I only had one gold coin that was easily identified, but I also read the bad reviews before I went and knew what to expect. Definitely will be going back when I get sorted a little better.
Great and fair prices when selling my silver and gold. Super helpful and friendly. Better than any other shop I talked to.
Ive given this place 10 stars for years until today. Ive been coming here to Old world coin McHenry for well over 18 years. Ive been buying and selling gold and silver here going all the way back to when I think Merv and the old crew ran things. It was a super cool one of a kind store that brought you back to the old days. Until today, I was in there turning in Gold and Silver jewerly from my belated baby sister for my mother and the new owner or manager was very cocky arrogant and rude. Right in front of me out loud he literally said to another customer while I was standing there everyone coming in to his store today was 90/10 and 90% he hates and 10% he likes. Not sure who he was referencing but I was only 1 of 2 other customers in the store at the time. I own several businesses and if I said that in front of customers or clients Id be out of business. Mind blown at his behavior. I loved this store and have literally told tons of people about Old World Coin through out the years but Im not sure I will continue to do so if he hates most people coming through his doors.
Was in recently to buy a 1 ozt AGE. Was pleasantly surprised their premium on it was less than 3%. That's very competitive. Can only speak to the buying side, as I haven't sold anything there yet, but this shop might become my main go-to. Staff was pleasant and helpful, as well. So, why four, and not five stars? That's just me. Something has to be very special to get five outta me. Give this store a try. IMHO, Old World should have a slightly higher Google score. Maybe getting suppressed by competitors?
