The little old frail guy behind the counter acted as if he didn't know half of what I had, had to look everything up, and then acted like I didn't know what I had. When I started taking back half of the things I was selling, he wanted to get an attitude with me and proceed to tell me that next time he'll charge me for my time. Why? Because I wasn't about to get ripped off? Trying to offer less than melt value on high graded silver coins. Also, I waited over an hour for any type of service. What about my time? He also cracked open a sealed slab WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME! In conclusion, there's better coin shops out there. Do not waste your time, or he'll try charging you for his.— John, Oct 2025
My local coin dealer of for the past 26 years closed shop. I went looking for a new one and found Marine Coin Company. The shop is pretty neat in an old bank. The owner was friendly and prompt to everyone. Several other customers were there, so I imagine he has pretty good turnover on inventory. This is a great place to buy or sell fine gold and silver or vintage coins (jewelry as well I believe). I recently dropped off a large coin collection for appraisal. Bill and Rich are very knowledgeable and friendly. I hardly felt like a stranger walking into the shop. There is a large influx of business right now due to the closings of two nearby shops, but they work diligently to provide all their customers with the best possible service.
