Ames Silversmithing made our dreams come true with our wedding rings! Scott and Kyle worked with the groom to design a custom engagement ring with a wedding band to match. They helped with renderings and fabrication, which all turned out great. Scott let him pick the center stone and even took the time to show what to look for in a diamond under the microscope. In terms of men’s wedding bands, they offered a selection that felt unique but didn’t come with the custom price tag. When I hurt my finger, they quickly adjusted the size of both my engagement ring and wedding band at no cost. After our wedding, they soldered the engagement ring and wedding band together in one day. If you’re looking for a small business to support, especially if you want custom work, look no further than Ames Silversmithing!

Thank you so much for the great customer service I received going through the process of bringing back to life my Great-Grandmothers ring and resizing it to fit my finger last year. Kyle was wonderful to work with. Just stopped in with a question last week and was happy to receive a complimentary ring cleaning from Gary. Exceptional customer service all around. I wish I could give, Ames Silversmithing 10 stars! I had been shopping forever on Marketplace for an engagement ring. I was checking out a couple from Kyle. He was very punctual and friendly on marketplace. I finally had a couple l picked out and wanted to look at. So I took a 30 minute drive north up to Ames. I had it narrowed down to 2 rings. Kyle was very helpful and suggestive, but never pushy. The engagement went as planned, she said yes! We came back later that month to look for a ring for myself. Once again, very helpful and found the perfect ring. A stunning Platinum ring. I had some scrap gold he measured it up for me and offered me $900 for it. The jewelry store in Ankeny gave me a “Shuck and Jive” story, and only offered me one third of that. We had to get a price on getting the new ring sized. He wrote everything down, including the $900 on the envelope. Kyle sent me the price to get it sized. Needless to say I got busy with life. Two weeks later Kyle texted me and wanted to know if I still wanted the ring. So we drove up that Saturday to pick it up. Kyle needed me to pay for it before he sized it. After I paid for it, it would be like 20 minutes to size it. But when I walked in the door of the shop, he had already had it sized, and it was perfect, prior to me, even paying for it. Kyle weighed the scrap gold a second time and recalculated it, the price of gold had gone up. He paid me $1,100 for the gold he had quoted me $900. He could have easily pocketed $300. I am so completely blown away by this act of honesty. My Fiance had a "Going Steady", ring I gave her. One of the diamonds had fallen out. After looking at it, he had noticed the other stone was cracked. He quoted us a price less than $100 to fix everything. Hands down this is the only place I will ever go. Great service, honest and ethical, 10 stars!

Kyle took amazing care of me. He took my idea and sent me computer designs that we edited together and the finished products were beautiful!!!! He came in under budget and to top off the great service, he did it all in 3 weeks to be ready for Christmas!!!
