I can't rate at this time because I have not been there yet.
Guy seemed reasonably friendly at first . However his assessment of my rare Morgan Dollar coin was way off. He didn't even seem aware of it's exceptional quality being that it's over 100 years old. He told me it was scratched on the face and it isn't because that is the TONING of such a rare coin . I ended up selling it on EBay for $950 He only had offered $6.00.lol which isn't even close to market value . Even if the coin was in poor condition it's still worth at least $20 . The coins in his case weren't even as nice as mine. Just another dealer who beleives himself to be a Numismatist Very disappointing .

Marty is knowledgeable, and an honest person to deal with. I knew little about bullion investment prior to visiting his shop. He was kind enough to give me a great background even though I only intended on making a small purchase. Due to his integrity, I am now a repeat customer.

I visited today and found Marty to be a good guy, and genuine in nature. We had a great talk and I appreciated his insights and values in life. I didn't love that I overpaid for my coins by a significant margin (double at least) but the point was that he was open and made it happen on my lunch break when nobody else nearby could. Making it in CT as a coin shop owner is increasingly difficult, there are very few left in this part of the state and there is an ever declining number nationally. Making it where you can to stay afloat is important for any small business owner. My fair/impartial assessment is that he was open, personable, likable, and there for me/the community. With my limited window to get some nice take homes for my in-laws, I was happy that Marty was there. If I was shopping for myself, I might shop elsewhere. However, maybe if I was shopping without a few hour deadline it might've been different. As a (younger) but avid coin collector for years, I would've appreciated to see coins on display or hearing about certain rare/numismatic specimens that he did have in the store. He may have many, however I did not get the opportunity to see them, nor did I feel like they were easily accessible.
