I dont normally write reviews, but I came to give this guy a 5 star for the deal he gave me, when I saw what Nick Tepper wrote. This guy asked me at the same time as Tepper to give him a few minutes as well, since his dog had an issue with his paw, Tepper guy was a complete crybaby Karen, and rude to everyone else in the store for having to wait 3 minutes. Prices were more than fair, selection was outstanding, and the owner and his dog were great. This guy has tons of knowledge and was really kind. Picked up some rounds for my stack, and also a roll of Franklins at a low price. Thanks again to the owner for such a great deal, and I will for sure come back.

I get to the store and the guy opens his door and tells me 5 minutes I'm having a problem with my dog. I wait outside for 5 minutes then he opens the door and signals me in. Another person comes in who hadn't tried to go to the store before me and he waits on him. Another guy walks in and then he waits on that guy. The only thing the guy ever said to me when I was inside the stores don't talk to his dog because it makes him growl which indeed he had a big unchained unleashed uncallered dog behind the counter who was in fact growling. I did ask him if he had any alter cameos and I should have known by his answer to just leave right then. That's a term of art in the grading world I didn't make it up. He said he didn't have any. Then I looked and I said oh wait here's a cameo ultra. And he said well I don't really look at coins that way. Pretentious. But worse than that he treated me as if I was a nobody and a nothing. As I was walking out he asked me is there anything you want a price for? And I said yes and I left. The inventory is way too high and coin shops are everywhere. I don't need some guy who obviously inherited this store to give me attitude and be a jerk. I'll never be back.

If you are thinking of selling on Ebay, do not! You will be hit with sellers fees and run the risk of returns. Come on down to SoCal Coins and talk to the employees who will give you detailed analysis on your coins or jewelry as well as a fair and honest estimate to its value. I was able to sell off some silver coins and some scrap gold and was paid the fairest price a person could receive. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and doesn't mind taking the time to personally attend to your needs. They also offer very fair prices on rare and valuable coins, as well as fine precious metals if you are a buyer. I would highly recommend anybody who is considering selling online to at least first visit the shop to get a much better deal and avoid the hassle of online selling. Thank you for your professionalism SoCal Coins. I hope to do business with you in the future!

So California Coins is the best.. better than all the rest! I was fortunate to find them a couple years ago. Mark has always been friendly, professional, informative and pays the highest for your coins/gold/collections. I would venture to say that the that negative energy you bring in any business is not appreciated but, as a business owner myself, we deal with the good, bad and ugly everyday. I’m a dog owner, also… my dogs come first when they are in need.

Didn’t get a good vibe walking into this store for the first time. I went in to get an estimate on a few 1 oz silver rounds and was immediately met with rude, dismissive service from the girl behind the counter. Within a minute of asking a couple of basic questions. how much they were selling over spot, she shut down the conversation, handed me off to Mark (the owner, I assume), and disappeared. After several minutes of talking with Mark, she suddenly reappeared and stood off to the side listening in, which was unprofessional and awkward. Mark then defended her behavior and call their offer “generous,” even though they were clearly trying to lowball me by $5–6 below spot price on collectible silver coins. Extremely poor customer service and shady business practices. Do not recommend doing business with these guys at all.
