I have purchased all my Gold and Platinum products from Michelle J. at Orion. She is a remarkable gold and platinum seller. However, due to a glitch in services in September, the General Manager is now refusing to deal with my purchases. I am a 79 year old disabled widow. I now have no one to handle the sale of my coins with this company. I now have to find a company to sell my coins but have to pay fees and shipping that will to cut into my profits regarding my purchased Gold and Platinum products. Very disappointed with this company. I had to endure the Oxford Gold debacle. Now this. I highly recommend Michelle J. But not this Company with Andreas running things. Very disappointed. Beware.

BUYER BEWARE: As a new precious metals investor in 2020, I purchased silver and platinum coins from Orion Metal Exchange based on their recommendations and assurances that these coins were “highly popular with collectors and investors globally.” I was charged steep premiums — 34–46% above spot — justified by their claimed desirability and collectible value. In total, I paid $225,870.60 for 3,375 oz of silver and about 104 oz of platinum, including $22,792.95 in silver premiums and $40,792.71 in platinum premiums — over $63,000 in markups. Now that I’m looking to sell, Orion is offering spot price for my silver (no premium at all) and about 12% below spot for my platinum — a negative premium of roughly $25,562. Their buyback ignores the very collectibility and demand used to justify the original pricing. That represents an estimated premium loss of about $89,000. If these coins were truly as desirable as represented, they should retain some premium value — not be treated as melt-only on resale. Either the original premiums were misrepresented, or the current buyback pricing is not fair market value. When I questioned this discrepancy, Orion’s response was to refer me to their attorney.
