I came to bring my grandmother’s coins to see if they were of any value and the gentleman was so nice and had a wealth of knowledge. The store is absolutely fascinating with tons of antiques. Definitely a place to check out.

My brother and I recently inherited a vast coin and currency collection from our grandfather. We went around to various coin stores in Los Angeles and found Beverly Hills rare coin, Michael really helped us understand what we had in terms of value and itemized the collection in terms of rarity and condition. After a long process of sorting through everything, he gave us a really good offer and we accepted.

I went there to see if any of the coins 🪙 I had been collecting were worth anything. A guy there with glasses had checked them and confirmed that they were only face value which was a shame but he was really nice and informative. He let me know the YouTube videos I had seen about wheat pennys and other such coins being valuable was all nonsense and referred me to a book that displays the real valuable coins. So my coins were worthless but at least I know the truth now thanks to the kind man working there.

Went there yesterday to have two sets of coins appraised; one from my mom's estate and another from a recent gift from my dad. Hutch was accommodating, gracious, efficient, and gave me a generous and detailed offer that I could share with my siblings so we could make an informed decision. After our visit, I already set up another appointment with him to cash out of my share of the coins. Thank you Hutch for making this process easy and comfortable! I'll send all my friends and family to you.

I went in to sell coins I had inherited, asked for a price they'd be willing to pay on the book and a few dozen loose silver dollars in uncirculated condition, some better dates (as I later learned), and received an unbelievably low offer. I was told that the book full of uncirculated type coins was worth $1k over the gold melt value because there weren't any key dates, which was a complete and utter lie. I took the book to two other stores in the LA area and they both told me it was worth around 3 times what this store offered. So I was essentially offered 33% of the actual wholesale (not retail, mind you) value. In addition to this, they offered just over melt for all of the Morgan dollars, which was also several dollars a piece less than what they were worth wholesale. There were some better dates ($50+ coins) that they lumped in with the common dates in an attempt to obfuscate their value. They also offered just over melt for a handful of rare coins in excellent shape, lying about them being cleaned or damaged so they could pull one over on me. I was told that a 150 year-old coin that had undergone natural rim toning and was previously graded an MS62 with CAC approval was worth $20 because someone had hit it with a blowtorch. The man I talked to very clearly intended to take serious advantage over me, someone who isn't well-versed in coins, in order to turn a huge profit. I understand that stores have to make money, but offering such a small amount of the full retail value crosses the gap from making money to exploitation. I came in to hear an offer and learn about what I had inherited, and was told it was essentially worth melt value (which was a lie), that none of the Morgan dollars had real numismatic value (which was also a lie), and wasn't actually told any information that was remotely helpful. If you decide to sell coins here, do your research beforehand and ensure you have an idea on value. Take them to other stores and see what other offers you get. If I hadn't done that, I would be out over $20k. I would personally never take anything there again.
