The people and the process were great. They gave me a great price and I was really excited to write a good review. Unfortunately they paid me with a check from US Bank. US Bank could not cash it because they didn't have enough money on hand. They told me they would order it and I could get my money in over a week. They refused to verify the check and would not give me a cashiers check (standard practice at all other banks) Then when I asked what they could do their branch manager - Travis Canfield - told me to "get out". Certainly I expressed my unhappiness with their bank but I never raised my voice or used foul language but Travis decided that my rudeness was enough to throw me out of the branch without negotiating the check in any way. The truth is this - the Gold exchange service is good but if you use them and they pay with a check you won't be able to get your money. If they give you a US bank check BEWARE

They only offer about 70 percent of spot price for gold, you can find much better

Very disappointed. To be fair, I have to say that I had a good experience here a year ago. But today, I called to make an appointment because I wanted to take about a pound of silver and a beautiful 5 carat star sapphire in to sell. On the phone, a young gentleman told me ok, but I'm only paying 50 cents a gram for silver THATS ALMOST 1\3 OF SPOT PRICE FOR SILVER ! AND he said as far as the sapphire goes,' I wouldn't do anything on that just 50 cents a gram for the scrap metal holding the stone." I realize that this is a business, but such a cold, impersonal, ridiculously low offer over the phone spelled volumes to me. And I'm very comfortable telling others to Please do you due diligence and check ED Marshall or Biltmore gold, etc before bringing your valuables here. You should be getting 75-90% of spot depending. I ended calling another buyer and was offered $ 1.10 for my silver scrap which is more than twice what I was offered here.

Great experience helping a friend sell some gold. America helped us get the best deal possible. She was very helpful answering questions. I browsed their camera section which has some great deals. The store was well stocked. Overall it was a great experience. Thanks again America for your help.
