I walked into this store today and found a Masonic ring I’ve been trying to find for a long time. The tag on it said $1,100. When I asked if that was the best price, the first guy said his boss could “do better,” but she was busy. Fair enough. I shopped around, came back to buy the ring, and another guy took over. He grabbed the ring, disappeared with it for almost ten minutes, talked to the same boss, and came back with a price of $1,650. That’s a $550 increase from the sticker and a complete reversal of what I was told five minutes earlier. I don’t care how high gold prices are — raising the price after a customer decides to buy is one of the most backward and disrespectful sales experiences I’ve ever had. If the tag was wrong, say that. If you can’t “do better,” don’t say you can. But don’t jerk customers around on pricing like that. I left, and I won’t be back. 1-19-26 update and response to owner. I want to clarify my experience for anyone reading. When I walked into the store, I looked at the ring and asked about the price. It was tagged at $1,100. The employee who helped me said the lady in charge might be able to give me a better price. I told him I wanted to shop around for a minute. I stayed in the store, purchased another item, and then went back to the ring. I never left the store. At that point a different employee helped me. After he spoke with the lady in charge, he returned with a new price of $1,650. I was surprised because I was prepared to purchase it at the tagged price. The higher price was given while I was still in the store, and after that he instantly placed the ring back in the case. At that moment, there was no scenario where I was going to buy that ring. I am not upset about gold or market value. I simply did not expect a price increase at the point of sale. That was my experience. If the $1,100 would have been honored, why the game? I simply walked into a store that I know has rings for sale. I just wanted what I was holding. I didn’t even ask for a better price. I said I wanted the ring. That was the start of all the drama. I thought buying from a local jewelry store would be better than going through a box store. After thinking about your response, I believe you are talking about someone else.

Got lowballed and told some silver was fake because they were to lazy to test it all, it was indeed not fake took it to a better place and they tested it and bought it. Also there's a middle age man there who is really rude and confrontational made the whole experience feel like it was a chore and not his job, like he was super bothered we were there. Wouldn't recommend this place mainly because of him, and how awkward he made the whole experience also the lowball didn't help, other people were with me who felt the same way. Went to a different shop and got more and a much better experience

Took silver coins in to verify if there was any fakes . 5 were fake the rest were real Anna tested them with the sigma and rare earth magnet. She was extremely knowledgeable and super easy to talk too. Don't be afraid to have them check your gold and silver over they can save you allot of money figuring out what's fake and how to identify fakes . Thanks again mobile bay coins & fine jewelry.

Edit to one star based on their reply- if there were milk spots, it's because you had the audacity to remove rounds from flips and handle with your bare hands like an amature. I could probably get your fingerprint off one now. The exact words out of your mouth were specifically we are offering $3 under spot right now. Anyone interested in getting intosound money, please use the internet find bullion prices dot come and let this store wither away so that Mobile can get the coin store we deserve. Good people but terrible “store policy” and prices are sad on the buying and selling side for silver. $3 under spot offer on premium rounds lol. Hard to get anyone into sound money when they can’t pay cash for silver up front and make you wait 15+ days for your payment. I understand it’s a business but I feel bad for people that shop and or sell here.

Very, very unhappy with my experience here. I have never had such a bad experience as I have had here at Mobile Coin and Jewelry. I have previously sold 6 gold coins between Mobile and Indianapolis always getting paid up front. I sold a numismatic 20 dollar gold coin and they held the coin for 15 business days. I spoke with the owner about releasing the money and he said he would call me back but never did. I explained I’m trying to pay my rent but he never called back. I called back numerous times just to be told we are busy he will call you back. No phone call. So thanks for the terrible experience of selling my dad’s gold coin and being late on my rent. I have more gold coins to sell but will not be back to this establishment to buy or sell.
