My mother in-law went there to get money for her trip to London England in oct, and they didn't have any Pounds. I went there looking for some Mexican pesos and they didn't have anything. Starting to look a little suspicious? Not sure what going on here! A money exchange store not having money to exchange? Interesting!

First time there. Shocked to see how busy it was on a monday at noon. Need time to go here,very professional and great service. Plan on going back with old coins . if you have zero patience find a sub par store. Or bring headphones . parking is around back at a chinese mall walk through the doors go right and out the doors to 16th ave and around the corner

Real mixed bag at Albern sometimes they pay very fair rates and sell things likewise at fair rate but sometimes especially if it’s a newer employee they are flat out insulting. I got offered the “melt price” equivalent to 1oz of silver at 100% for a tri metal coin that contains a fill oz of silver.. plus a fifth an oz of gold and 1/100th of platinum all at 999 purity. Offered like 80$ for a coin with an actual melt value over 1250$ insulting can’t imagine what they’d do to someone trying to liquidate a collection they didn’t know the value on.

You should stick on the currency rate you offer on your website. It is cheating when you supplied online rate for exchange and you supply a different rate once reach at the business. I belive the credibility is much vital than fishing a person with false facts. Second Review, I call to confirm the amount. We confirmed the rate and agreed.You have been shown to the office. You repeat the verification. Answering all questions and accepting the terms and form of payment. However, for unknown reasons, you did not receive the requested amount and must return. It's ludicrous, and there's no purpose to explain such things. I got from other better place though. I DO NOT NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

The staff are short and impatient, specifically the guy i had. Treated me like i was bothering him. Ya lets get this transaction done.... First we had to wait ina line up and would have appreciated a bit of courtesy. Used to be a good place. By the time we were done his attitude got a bit kinder, thankfully. Just know what you're getting in to before going. and parking is the shitz

I currently use three gold-silver shops in Calgary. Yes, Albern is one of the bigger ones and YES they often have inventory when the smaller shops run out. But the customer service is absolutely horrible. Perhaps they deal with a lot of riffraff in that particular location and it puts them in a foul mood but they treat EVERYONE like crap...even those of us that purchase BIG dollar amounts from them. Also, the price that they offer when BUYING precious metals is waaaay less than their competitors. Make sure you call around for the best prices. I will avoid this place as much as possible going forward, I've just had it with them.

Sold 2x100oz bars of silver. Called for indicative quote and while spot market had moved while I drove there I received the same % of spot as quoted by phone. In my case price had moved higher so it was good for me. Many reviewers here don’t seem to understand the volatility of the fx and bullion markets and the only price that matters is when you’re standing at the window. Silver price was crazy so there was a line but employees were efficient and moved through it. Gentleman I dealt with was friendly and efficient. ID and SIN were of course required. Other reviews mention this as a negative but those are fintrac regulations not Albern’s. It would be a huge red flag if they were not requiring it. Any professional dealer will. Albern paid me a fair % of spot, and did so in a professional, friendly and efficient manner. Would definitely use again!
