How We Verify Listings

US Coin Shows maintains one of the most comprehensive directories of coin shows and coin dealers in the United States. Every listing you see on this site came from somewhere — and we believe you should know exactly where that is and how much confidence to place in it.

This article explains our verification process in plain language, so you can use our directory with clear expectations about what each listing represents.

Four Provenance States

Every show and dealer listing on US Coin Shows has one of four provenance states. You will see the relevant status displayed directly on each page.

Verified by US Coin Shows

This is our highest confidence status. It means our editorial team has confirmed the listing details directly — through phone contact with the organizer, email correspondence, website cross-check, or direct attendance confirmation. Verified listings are reviewed periodically. If we cannot reconfirm a listing, the status may revert to a lower confidence level.

Submitted by Organizer or Dealer

Organizers can submit show listings directly through our platform, and dealers can register and claim their profiles. These submissions go through an editorial review process before publishing. Submitted listings are a strong signal of accuracy because the information comes from the source, but we always recommend confirming travel-sensitive details directly before attending a show.

Imported Listing

Many listings in our directory were assembled from public business information — including numismatic club websites, show directories, bourse lists, and business records. These listings are marked as Imported and may not reflect the most current details. When we receive an update or can verify the information directly, the listing is upgraded.

Editorially Maintained

Some listings are maintained by our editorial team with ongoing research and updates, particularly for high-traffic events and major show series. These may not have direct organizer confirmation but receive regular editorial attention.

Show Verification Process

Our show verification process starts with initial import from public sources and progresses through editorial review, organizer contact, and periodic reconfirmation. Each show page displays the date details were last verified, so you can judge the freshness of the information.

We strongly encourage show organizers to submit their listings directly through our platform. Direct submissions are the most reliable path to Verified status and give organizers control over their event details.

Dealer Verification Process

Our dealer directory contains over 2,000 coin dealers across the United States. Each profile shows its verification status so collectors can calibrate their confidence before making contact.

Dealers who claim their profiles directly gain control over their listing and are eligible for Verified status. Claimed profiles are the fastest path to appearing with the highest trust signals on our platform.

Reporting Corrections

Our data is never perfect. Shows change venues. Dealers move or close. Dates shift. We rely on the numismatic community to help us keep information accurate.

If you see an incorrect date, wrong address, closed business, or outdated detail, please report it through our corrections page. We review every correction submitted and update listings promptly when we can verify the correction.
