Why Major Shows Matter
Large national and regional coin shows offer something that local club shows and online marketplaces cannot: the concentration of rare material, specialized dealers, and expert knowledge in one place.
If you are serious about building a collection or conducting significant transactions, attending at least one major show per year is worth the investment.
The FUN Show (Florida United Numismatists)
Held annually in January in the Orlando, Florida area, the FUN Show is one of the largest coin shows in the country. Thousands of dealers and tens of thousands of attendees make this a premier event for buying, selling, and networking at the start of each year. Educational programs and auctions from major auction houses accompany the show.
ANA World's Fair of Money
The American Numismatic Association's flagship event moves to different cities each year. The World's Fair of Money is the largest ANA-sponsored show and features an enormous bourse floor, major auction sessions, and extensive educational programming. Check money.org for the current year's location and dates.
ANA National Money Show
A smaller companion to the World's Fair of Money, the ANA National Money Show is held each spring and offers a similar format in a more focused setting.
Central States Numismatic Society (CSNS) Show
Held annually in the Midwest each spring, the CSNS Show is one of the most important regional shows in the country, with a strong dealer presence and active auction activity.
Long Beach Coin, Currency, Stamp & Sports Collectible Expo
The Long Beach Expo in California runs three times per year (February, June, and September) and is one of the most significant shows on the West Coast. Major auction houses hold sessions adjacent to the show.
Whitman Coin & Collectibles Expos (Baltimore)
The Whitman Shows in Baltimore run three times per year and are among the most important shows on the East Coast, attracting major dealers and significant auction activity.
Strong Regional Shows
Beyond the national events, many regional shows attract hundreds of dealers and thousands of attendees. Browse our full coin show directory to find the most significant shows in your region.
Planning for a Major Show
For major shows, book hotel accommodations early — they fill quickly. Bring your want list, budget more than you plan to spend, and arrive early on opening day for the best selection. Review our coin show checklist before attending.
