I've been looking for a coin dealer in MN to help build out my collection and finally found one! Tip of the cap to a knowledgeable and friendly staff at PCE. They even bought me lunch and invited me to happy hour at Ziggy's later that afternoon.
Very knowledgeable, informative, friendly and helpful! I'm located in AZ but after not getting help from local shops about a coin I have I found Preferred Coin Exchange on the 2nd page of Google and gave them a call and I'm SUPER glad I did! Eric was more than willing to give me tons of insight on the coin my dad inherited and advice. I couldn't speak highly enough of them, as you can tell you are getting the real deal and their full attention. If I were located in WI they would be my go to coin people!
I stopped by a couple of times last year. It is a bit difficult to find the place. I didn't find it on the first try. After finding the location during business hours, it felt like walking into an office. There were almost no products on display at all. The only thing to be seen was corporate decor and a small team of salespeople. I felt pressured since there was no casual browsing to be done. After asking for a few small bullion rounds or coins, I was told that they don't deal with small volumes or individual sales. Essentially, they are only looking for clients with deep pockets and don't want walk-in business. If you don't want walk-ins, and you only want a few large customers, why even be open to the public? Just run it privately.
Very helpful and knowledgeable. As someone who doesn't know anything about coins, when my family inherited some, they were really helpful with educating me on the items I had. I know some complained about it being appointment only, but I preferred that because there was no distraction with other clientele, and I had their full attention. For those looking for unique, one of a kind specialty coins, this is your place to go. Keep in mind though it's not a retail store to browse-so l'd inquire about specific items and make an appt.
