The only friendly person there was us was the older gentleman. As far as the owner, the reviews were right. He's rude, Brash, & should stick to the antiques . He thinks he's the smartest person in the room. He told me my PCGS coin was fake because it had to have a gold shield which is only a newer policy doesn't apply to older holders. Things that heritage auctions has already confirmed for me. He chewed me out and told me that they don't do that cuz he previously worked there. Keyword is PREVIOUSLY.!!! I can't say that he didn't pay me fair prices but one in a hundred coin stores. He's the only one that talked down to me with as a matter of fact and the worst part is he's showing his employees coins that he says are counterfeit when I could have clearly proven otherwise then and there! ! Unless you're the type of person that wants to stroke someone's ego and pump them up. Don't bother selling your stuff there or buying from them. We don't need people like him in the coin business longer than they need to be. He should go back to working at the auction house instead of trying to grade coins from his personal opinion. The only thing that didn't surprise me was other people had spoken the same way about his attitude and how he cuts people off, and I highly doubt his business would have lasted as long as it has if he hasn't used the last coin shop own store name which Gary was a good guy to do business with in the coin world. Chris is not! change the name to Chris's coin shop instead of dragging Gary's name down!

The staff and owner were all friendly, asking if I needed anything or that they could be of assistance, yet not pushy. Could tell that they all have a passion for coins and where knowledgeable. Gary work on a big sale and then spent good amount of time with a young kid who was just starting his collection, he treated them both the same. Would recommend new and old collector stop for a visit, well worth the time.

This place is awesome. I have been here 3 times so far and every time I have gone here the guys behind the counter are so nice and patient. They are not pushy and I recommend people to go here. All of the prices are perfect and nothing is overpriced. Me and the guys there have become pretty good friends and we talk a lot when I visit.

Gary Rosencrans was great to work with when he owned this store. Unfortunately, I was completely dismayed and shocked by the attitude of the new owner. I was interrupted, spoke over and told I could only get a formal appraisal, which would cost me $100.00. I will never do business here again. My collection was recently stolen, and the sheriff's department was able to recover it from several pawn shops. The prosecuting district attorney asked me to get an updated general evaluation of its value. If the total value of the theft from my residence was $2,500 or greater, it would be a felony charge rather than a misdemeanor. My coin collection's total value was assessed at approximately $1,500 in 2013. There was no fee for the service. Gary's staff simply counted the number of coins and gave a market value based on general condition. I attempted to inform this owner numerous times that I was just looking for a general idea of the value and If I needed a formal appraisal, I would then ask for that service. Basically, if a general assessment of value was significantly less than the threshold there would be no need for a formal appraisal. Simply because I mentioned that I was complying with the law enforcement request to obtain a general value, the owner refused my request. He was brash and couldn't apparently comprehend a formal appraisal would only be necessary if the DAs office deemed it necessary. He didn't seem to care that I wouldn't need to or want to spend $100.00 if not required by the DA. He was rude, unhelpful, and it was a obnoxious interaction. It was clear to me that he would have assisted me with the general free appraisal if I had not mentioned law enforcement. Apparently no common sense or critical thinking skills were available to him today. He clearly knew I was frustrated and clearly didn't give a damn.

Felt like I might have been a little slighted, I've a collection of coins left to me and I felt some had some value but got melt price and was low ball melt price. Maybe I'm wrong? But I kinda felt like it was get him in and out. I'm bye know means a coin collector but I'm very weary now of where to go and what to do. I hope that they were honest with me. Just learn more about what you have I guess was my fault!! Nice and friendly is what I'll say.

Gary's Coin shop used to be run well, but the new owner is the rudest, most dismissive shop owner I've ever encountered anywhere. During my latest, and last, visit I was talking to an employee, and all I had asked was what a fair price would be for a few silver coin items I had. Chris, the owner, was at another counter looking down, and without even looking up once, answered in the most annoyed, rude tone that "Any offer from anyone is a fair offer." Long story short, no one was helpful in the slightest, and this pairs up with every other stop into the shop since new ownership. But this last stop was the worst, and as I said, the last.
