My elderly neighbor was having trouble keeping her residence warm, since money comes and money goes, I decided with my gf to get rid of some of my coin collection to help her. I traveled just south of the Canadian border to fulfill my obligation to take care of our elderly widow women. Initially the transactional transfer was going smooth, when the guy who was sorting my coins realized I was more knowledgeable than he was, and was asking too many questions. He changed his tactics, he split all my coins with all the other employees and just started putting numbers down, when I questioned him about the price of a coin, or a minted coin he didn’t acknowledge, he added a few dollars to it. I received no receipt, no printout, or statements on what they paid for what. I know I didn’t get a fair shake, but some lessons in life are far more valuable than a bunch of upper class swindlers. That lesson is the golden rule, “treating others as one would be treated by them.” I like to call it the ethics of reciprocity. Anyways if you’re a minority, I’d advise you to travel a little further down the road. Blessings to all.
Love this shop! Both John and his son Ryan were wonderful to work with! Their pricing is more than fair. They lock their shop and let you in when you knock. I was comfortable with the added security. All employees were helpful and I enjoyed my experience with Martin's Coin and Jewelry. I would go out of my way to do business with them!
