Had a dear friend who is an Antique Dealer introduce me to Potomack Auctions. I recently bid on a beautiful grand antique mirror and won the bid. All the Staff at Potomack, from the Owner Jane to her Administrative Staff are warm, professional and very customer service oriented. From the registration process to the process of picking up my winning bid, all processes were done with efficiency, concern and great customer service. My beautiful, very large mirror which is very fragile was bubble wrapped and carefully taped entirely from top to bottom. The Inventory Handlers even loaded the wrapped mirror into a friends' truck. These men were also well trained, professional and concerned. I certainly recommend Potomack Auction House with great enthusiasm.

If you are looking for expertise, knowledge and overall wonderfulness, with the lost art of personalization, then The Potomack Company is the place to sell your collection or a few of your treasured pieces. But, if you are looking to be just a number or cog in the wheelhouse of some other auction house, then I wish you the best. Rarely am I one to write a review, but when one experiences such immense talent that has actually been assembled in one company, obviously through the painstaking efforts of its driving force Elizabeth Wainstein, then I hope to ease the dilemma for others looking to sell their items. You’ve found your auction house here at Potomack. From the minute you make that initial call…till the end of the selling process, you will know you made the right decision, as did I. And, then it will be your turn to tell your positive experience to others…

I had an exceptional experience with The Potomack Company. A lovely young lady helped me when I first came in and started my time with them off great. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. Their auctions are well-organized, and I was impressed by the variety of high-quality items on offer. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to auctions, Potomack provides a welcoming and informative environment. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a trustworthy and top-notch auction house in the DMV or even the whole of the east coast!

I just went to Potomac Auctions with some items and they seemed genuinely put off that I just walked in - without an appointment. The attitude shown by the staff member named Lindsay was a total put off as if she was looking down her nose at everything about me as she scrutinized my items - some of which I didn't even show. The assumption that all of it was going to be left with them today was surprising. She commented that usually things are assessed digitally and because I wasn't leaving anything they would have to email me their thoughts based on photos. During the time that she excused herself with a couple of items into a seperate room, I decided the fit was not for me regardless of reviews or past favorable experiences working with someone who is now semi-retired. During her abscence I packed up my items. Upon her return she seemed surprised I was leaving and again wanted me to set up an appointment - unfortunately it would have again been with Lindsay. No thanks.

Always professional and polite. Grace greeted us at the door with a smile, had our items and paperwork ready to go, asking if we had any questions and checking again to be sure it was the correct items.
