I went here a few months ago and got a great deal only about a dollar under spot price. Went there today when silver was at 82$ spot price and they were offering only 74$. Now is not the time to do business with these people. Call and ask what they're offering before you waste your time driving there.
Stopped by Freewater Coin Co. and had a great experience. The staff were super helpful and knew their stuff. I was just browsing, but they answered all my questions without being pushy. They’ve got a cool mix of coins, silver, and other collectibles. Definitely worth checking out if you're into that kind of thing!
Went in to have some jewelry checked for gold content. Asked if they do this and was told they do. The young man at the counter was nice and pulled out a tray to evaluate the jewelry. The owner swooped over from his desk and curtly handled the situation. He said that no, they do not but if I wanted to leave my jewelry he would have it checked and charge me forty dollars. In his defense I was unshaven and had the jewelry in a zip lock bag. While there I also asked about the price of silver rounds (to buy) They were 3-5 dollars above what I was quoted by American Coin just down the street. My visit here was to say the least, very disappointing.
I’ve done a bit of business with these guys over the years. Coins to jewelry. They’ve always been pretty fair. But after learning now they have a $40 charge to test jewelry I think I’ll stick with pawn shops that don’t charge. I brought in a necklace they told me hypothetically was worth 59 bucks but they wanted 40 to test it! So I net $19 😂. Kind of a joke really. I’ll probably still bring my coins in but NOT jewelry! 😒
Silver is crazy right now -- I know nothing about it. This place helped ease me into how things work, values, buy and sell. Helpful and patient, but also efficient. I was a little uneasy at first about if everything they said was accurate - but after a little more research, I feel confident in their advice. Cool store. Well laid out. Plenty of selection. Attentive staff. It was busy, as expected, and I was helped promptly. Thanks!
