I dont know what i walked into but , i just asked if i had something of any value.. he instantly told me its fake.. then went and weighed it and put it in his scan tool.. Im just thinking " if its fake, why is he even bothering to test it??".. i guess he thought id just leave it.. Real or fake ill keep it in hopes he was wrong but , i really did not feel welcomed at all.. and there was only two guys there just chatting it up.. And he told me not to clean my coins.. i dont care. Im not going back there.. Heres some pics of the coin ..
Since gold and silver have recently jumped in value, I took some scrap jewelry to finally sell. My experience mirrored all the similarly positive experiences in the other reviews I read about Chambersburg Coin Exchange while deciding where to go. I dealt with Gary and he was exactly as helpful and friendly as others have stated. I also was pleasantly surprised at the amount I received for my pile of misc junk. His test machine accurately measured the different carats of the pieces I already knew the quality of, without me saying them in advance, and he easily spotted the worthless pieces. As honest as it gets in my opinion. Before I left he answered the couple questions about coin valuation I had and gave me some knowledgeable advice on the subject...and more then 2 cents worth, lol.
