BEAWARE! I recently took in a few very rare gold pieces to this company. I have basic knowledge of its worth and was suggesting to get a few appraisals before making a decision. One was a gold coin valued over $1000 alone on a gold chain. He weighed the chain on a extremely small scale (the chain wasn’t even fully on the scale while it was being weighed) and he told me “I can offer you $1,200” I replied “for the chain or the coin” he replied “both” … I was shocked considering the chain is 10k and weight was 19g (scrap gold currently for that weight is $1,293)… I’m guessing he assumed I didn’t know this! I told him the coin alone values over $1000! He said “I know, the $1000 is for the coin and $200 for the chain” As a person in that industry weighting the gold right in front of my face telling me a $1,293 chain is worth $200 is asinine! Unbelievable! I had several things to offer, but after this dishonesty, I immediately packed up my things and left. I will not return. Make sure you have some knowledge before selling here or doing business or you could potentially get ripped off.

Like many, I had accumulated coins and coin sets from family members and rather than continuing to store them, I needed help with appraisal and possibly selling them. Jacob and Jonah were super helpful, knowledgeable and took their time with each coin, answering all of my questions and truly made me feel like I was their only customer! They offered to pay more than at your typical gold and jewelry stores which helped me decide to part with items that also had a sentimental value to them as well. I highly recommend Appraisal Services if not to sell, then at least to learn the value of your coins. Great family company!
