This place is so awesome! It’s amazing to just sit and enjoy the place. I love looking at all the old/new magic books and other trinkets. The lighting, music, and overall atmosphere is very cool and relaxing. Will definitely return, I highly recommend!

Reed was amazing and so helpful - we loved seeing the shop and appreciated all the memorabilia. The card collection was top notch - don’t miss the big elephant! We will be back - cheers to making magic

Walking into Tannen’s Magic Shop feels like stepping out of modern New York and straight into the heart of the Roaring Twenties — a place where history, wonder, and true magic live in the walls. It’s beautiful in a way no entertainment venue could ever be, because its charm is real. There’s a unique atmosphere here: the quiet thrill of old New York, the legacy of generations, and that unmistakable spark that makes you remember why you fell in love with magic in the first place. The shop is top-notch in every way — from its incredible selection to the warmth and expertise of the people who run it. A place like this is rare. If you’re in the city, don’t miss it. It’s pure magic.

Went to the after hours magic show last week and was truly disappointed. $100 for a show where none of the tricks were that impressive felt extremely overpriced. It was mostly basic card and cup tricks you would see performed for kids, and everything was quite predictable. The whole time I was waiting for something “wow” to happen but it never got there. I strongly feel that $20-30 pricing makes much more sense for this show, and it’s probably more geared towards children.

One of the most quintessential magic shop that all magicians want to see. Honestly photos make the space look larger—maybe even the Tannen legacy makes it look bigger. However it’s very quaint inside. 🎩 🐇 🪄 The staff will perform card tricks and sleight of hand! Not only are there many magic tricks to purchase along with decks of cards and Tannen’s Magic merch you will also find magic history on the walls, vintage magic posters, and unique magic props. ✨ 🙌 If you are in to magic, I would say it’s a MUST while visiting NYC.
