My sister took me here once and she bought postcards and I bought this Coca Cola polar bear glass. An older man was the cashier then and was very nice to us. But recently my sister went back to the shop to treat herself to a day of antiquing, it’s her birthday this month and she wanted to cheer herself up from hard times with a day of shopping. She was met with a cashier here named Karen. They were the only two people in the store. My sister explained she had just been to another antique store and didn’t want to leave her new special gifts unattended in the parking lot, she wanted to carry it by her side. Instead of literally any other explanation about store policy, Karen’s response to her was “I don’t want anything to accidentally slip into your bag” It was totally uncalled for, it really hurt my sisters feelings, being treated like a criminal as soon as she walked through the door. My family tried to talk to the owner about the whole situation how wronged we all feel.. the owner tried to minimize the whole thing by offering us discounts in the future as if that’s what we really want. But what I’d like is for that cashier Karen to formally apologize for ruining my sisters day for absolutely no reason.
