I really like Piedmont! The remodel a number of years ago (not sure how long) gave it a good look! I like The Harbor and the fish store. I like seeing the Ole's Shoe Repair. How cool that kind of business still exists! Gloria Dio is a neat store too. I still have to try the bistro. Lots of cool and different shops there! I remember long enough ago when Ben Franklin, the material (sewing) store, Safeway foods and the big pharmacy where the dentist is now were there! That's been a long while!— Jackie Murray, Jan 2026

Not a ton of parking when it gets busy here, but it's usually adequate. The piedmont Cafe is a great place to eat and a few of the little shops are also worth the stop. There's a neat little leather/shoe repair place, a pretty decent hardware store, and a haircut place. The coffee shop is pretty nice too.
