While I'm interested in coins, and had accumulated a number of proof sets and loose coins over the years, as well as inherited a few from family members, I'm not an enthusiast. So, after many years of moving the coins around when we moved, I decided to do some homework and find a good shop to sell them, so that enthusiasts could enjoy the collection instead of it sitting in my closet. I had the good fortune to work with Brian and his daughter Brooke last week. The shop is bright and clean, the displays are fun for people of varying levels of interest, and Brian was terrific to work with. He explained a little bit along the way of reviewing my coins, was patient in answering questions, and forthcoming on values. No one should really expect to hit the lottery with their coins, but with a little online homework should get a fair idea of value. I'd say that Brian appraised everything accurately, was easy to talk to and do business with, and I'd easily recommend this as a great place to sell, buy or simply visit and browse.

Brian was a rare gem himself. He was professional, knowledgeable, and gentle with my collection. He offered below what I wanted but I now understand what I possess in value with my collection. Thank you Brian! πŸ™πŸΎπŸ˜‡πŸ™πŸΎ

Great shop to buy unique silver pieces sometimes not found in other shops. I was going weekly to up my oz count and collection for some time. They have a good selection of spot +$2 silver rounds and coins. I would not buy or sell graded ASE there as they are low on offering and high on price. I wouldn't buy eagles or maples there either as they are higher than a certain shop in Ballantyne. But!!! The reason for the 5 stars is that they have a great selection and will work with you if you are buying enough. This is a great place to stop in and do some buying on some unique pieces!!!

Hello, I stop by the coin shop today just to check them out. I have a coin dealer that I see weekly, but they were not open at the time and I wanted to explore and see what else was out there. So I was able to get buzzed in and came in the store. There was not greeting from the two guys or no acknowledge at all. There was a couple there were assisting, so I understood that a greeting was going to be delayed. After standing in the store for a while, there was not any "hello, be right with you" or "thanks for stopping by, one moment please" . Nothing! Normally when I am not greet in an appropriate amount of time, I leave the store. However, I gave grace, and thought they at with a couple and maybe it was not intentional, even though they have to buzz me in and let me in the door. Then their phone rang, and the older employee answered the phone, end the call, and still did not acknowledge me or ask if I needed help until I made eye contact with him. When he finally acknowledge me and ask how can he help, I told him what I was looking for. He was short, and keep saying we have other silver rounds at the back or the other employee will know more about this. If I am telling you want I would like, I would have thought he would have a gave an effort and go to the back and find what I requested. However, he acted like I was bothering him and I waited for the other employee to finish with the couple. After the couple left, and it was just me and workers in the store, it seems like they both did not want to assist me. After I told them what I was looking for again, they both went to the back and whispering to each other. I wanted to leave at that point. I just walked around and look at some of their display until the older employee came with some rounds and finally gave me a price for them. I examine them, but his attitude and demeanor was terrible. I just told him thanks and walk towards the exit of the store. I just said to myself, I will just stick to my old coin dealer for now on! I would have never experienced this! I do not want to pull the "race" card, but I strongly believe I would have received better treatment. You should never let customer feel like they are wasting your time. Crazy thing is that I would have brought those rounds he showed me, but my experience and his attitude would not let me. Definitely will not be back and I am sticking with my old coin dealer, who always welcoming! I stop by their shop today after leaving this store, upset, but my coin dealer uplifted me and I purchased 3 silver rounds there!

I visited Independence Coin on 1/21 to sell some silver rounds. The two gentlemen I worked with agreed on a price that I felt was fair, and they were courteous and professional during that portion of the transaction. I also asked whether they buy gold jewelry. For both 18k and 14k pieces, I was offered approximately 45% of melt value. Based on what I’ve read online, it is typical for buyers to offer roughly 60–80% of melt value, so this felt notably low by comparison. I decided to make a few additional inquiries and contacted Piedmont Gold Exchange - Charlotte, located about a mile away. After visiting their store and working with Phil and Carrie, I received AN ADDITIONAL $265, approximately 25% MORE for the same jewelry.
