Just visiting Greensboro from Philly found a Coin Shop with great people, great service and fair prices would definitely recommend. Very knowledgeable people. Update: back in the area, again another great experience they took excellent care of me picked up a 1/4 Eagle pendant for a chain. Huge inventory and selection great customer service thanks again to Scott. 5 star experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stephanie was absolutely wonderful to work with! She took the time to carefully go through me and my grandfather’s coin collection, answering questions and making sure everything was looked over thoroughly. That level of attention and patience really meant a lot, especially since another place down the road wouldn’t even take the time to look. I’m so glad I came here—highly recommend Carolina Silver and Gold and especially Stephanie.

Just know what you have before you get there. Haven't had any interactions that weren't professional in my two visits but I needed some extra cash and brought in quite a few grams of gold (90%-95% pure) which I worked into what I was expecting to get AMD THEY OFFERED ME HALF OF THAT! I know I wasn't forced to take it but I really needed the money. Literally made me feel sick

TL;DR - this shop will low ball any jewelry that you try to sell, and may even lie to you about its purity. If you want fair value for your PM try other shops. I called the shop to make sure they would trade scrap gold jewelry for gold bullion. I was told yes, they absolutely would make the trade and I would be given a better rate for the trade than a standard sale. So, I brought my collection in to see what we could work out. First of all, while the employee evaluated a couple of my pieces, he decided to have another employee (an older gentleman who I assume is the owner) give him a second opinion. The older employee took a brief look at my jewelry and exclaimed “yeah, everything looks right, it’s just disgustingly filthy” (my jewelry was not dirty…) Second, their appraisal was conducted at a separate counter from where I was standing. The employee had his back turned to me, and I wasn’t able to clearly see the tests being completed - It appeared to me that the employee only used a basic acid test on the jewelry, no sigma or kee. After the team completed their appraisal, I was offered less than 80% of the melt value for my collection. Luckily I was prepared, knew the melt value, and was able to reject their egregiously low-balled offer. I was told by the employee that tested my jewelry that the reason for the low offer is because all of my jewelry was significantly under the marked karat.. I was in no hurry to make the sale, so, I politely declined their offer and took my jewelry to a different shop. At the second shop, the employee tested all of my jewelry on a kee tester RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, and in a fraction of the time. The second shop confirmed that everything was the correct karat, and paid me fairly. A customer who was less knowledgable/prepared would have likely accepted their ridiculous offer, and believed they got a fair deal.
