Beware - this place is very deceptive. Pricing doesn't make sense and the staff have no sense of professional decorum.
Recently purchased a new in box car stereo, upon getting home I realized the plug for the radio wasn't the right plug for it, returned the same day and was immediately taken care of, replacement was ordered by the shop and given back to me when it arrived, and not just a replacement plug, a whole new stereo. All the staff were great to work with. And to top it off, Mike even dropped it off on his way through town since I live in three forks. Would recommend this place above any of the others
Very confusing interaction with a employee went like this: I bring in 2 new pairs of waders, a small box with some hand tools, new saw blades, batt chargers. Lady employee "are you looking for a loan, or looking to sell?" Me, "I am looking to sell." Male employee steps in, "well lets see what ya got." Everything is fine up to this point. I removed the waders from the bag and he proceeds to tell me about how many waders they have and why the waders don't sell. And so to move it along to get to the other items, I confirm, "so that's a no on the waders. Okay, no problem. Are you interested in any of these items....? " As I start to present each tool from the small box and he acts completely befuddled, and asks "So we are a pawnshop. We loan people money and hold their belongings as Collateral. If you are looking for somewhere to dump truckload of garbage and take-off. This aint that place." I respond, "right, I understand how pawnshops work.... I am just seeing if you would be interested in buying any of this stuff i have accumulated and no longer use." He proceeded to ask me arbitrary questions like "where i was from" and that "he didnt recognize me", interspersed with advice on how to use facebook market place. I would respond to each disjointed comment from him with an appropriate answer followed by a "...... So to confirm is that a 'No' on the (whatever item i has holding during his diatribe)..?" And that was the main mystery of the entire interaction... I was expecting a yay or a nay on the items as I presented each But instead I had to prompting and coaxing a difinitive answer from him and instead of a 'Yay ' or 'nay' he would often reapond with " well it just seems like we arent getting anywhere " as if he was negotiating intently' and I was some mis-informed person mistakenly thought pawnshops bought items wth the intent to resell them. I left there confused and frustrated. I went to another pawn shop, which promptly purchased all my items.
As always, this place and it's employees, exceed any expectation i have of your everyday pawn. It is always so organized, clean and the customer service is unmatched. Truly. I never go anywhere else. And remember, this place definitely helps you and you're in a pinch, but they also have some wonderful things if you're ever in need of something or just bored and want to go shopping! I can almost guarantee they'll have what you need and something you didn't know you had to have! Check em' out! You won't be disappointed.
I had a wonderful experience at Mountain Man Trading. The staff was friendly, they have a great selection of merchandise, and their shop was clean and well organized. Would send anyone their way looking for good deals on used items!
