Let me first say that I am a loyal patron of a well established local jeweler. I happened to stop in on my way home from work recently and was pleasantly surprised at the jewelry offering that have at Wizebuys. I was assisted by Mike and he took his time to show me everything I wanted to see. He was knowledgeable and courteous. What he didn't know, he was able to find out. I didn't buy anything in that stop but a couple of the pieces I had looked at were stuck in my head. When I went back, Mike was again courteous and patient and was able to negotiate a better price on the item I had been thinking about. I still love my jeweler but Mike and Wizebuys offers pieces that are not necessarily going to be offered by my favorite jeweler. Because these are previously loved items that can be unique treasures. I have a new source for fine jewelry!

I have never given a review prior to this. However, after having a brief encounter with this establishment, I honestly feel the need to. Okay, so appropriately a week, or so ago I had stopped by Wizebuys Pawn with 27.8 grams of 14k gold (a couple necklaces, a bracelet and three piece heart charm). The Spot price on 14k per gram on this day had been $62.23. Meaning, I had presented a little over $1,700 (spot price) worth of gold. One of my first questions to the individual who had claimed to be the owner, had been. What were they offering per gram (14K) on this day? The response I had received had been that he does not price per weight, but by what is presented to him. Even though I had never heard of such, I had thought that this could possibly be better for me. Being that the four pieces of jewelry that I had presented had all been in like new condition. I had then watched him check the purity and weight, and then had been asked if I wanted to pawn, or sell and how much I was looking to get? After responding that I would like to sell, and asking how much he was offering? He had stated that he would give me $400. I then waited for a "just kidding" or for someone to jump out and tell me that I was being punked or something! However, this had not happened, so being the nice, self controlled person, that I sometimes am. I just told him no thanks, and waited for him to return my items. Instead though, he had again asked me how much I was trying to get? I then stated that with the price of 14k gold being $62.23, the least that I would accept would be $40 per gram, which I believed was more than fair. I was then basically laughed at, and told that "that's not how he rolls." I then asked for my items back and as I began to exit, I was then offered $30 per gram, which I guess is better than the less than $15 per gram that I had first been offered. However, I had declined and continued my departure. Now I fully understand that money needs to be made inorder to sustain a business, but I also know that there is a big difference between making a dollar (profiting), or that of attempting to oppress, or taking advantage of people. This being stated due to the fact that the vast majority of individuals whom find themselves needing to frequent a pawn shop inorder to either pawn, or sell their belongings are doing so, due to being in a financial hard spot. For ones who attempt to exploit/take advantage of this I believe just goes to show their true character, which I believe can simply summed up as "less than". Also, just a little FYI ... If you are reading this for the purpose of researching the best place to pawn/sell your gold (jewelry), or any other precious metal. Not only avoid Wisebuys Pawn, but also check out Andres Fine Jewlers (Brighton). No one even comes close to their prices.

I went in with a piece of silver that I knew was solid silver and the guy wouldn't even test it and said it was not real. He finally went and tested it in a back room and came out and said it's not real. I literally went to the coin shop , two minutes down the road , and had them test it , and it's solid .999 silver! Save yourself the trouble and do not deal with these people. Sell your stuff on facebook to someone who will give you what you deserve.
