They offered to buy my silver 10 oz. Bars/100 ounces at over $3 dollars below the current spot price. GO ELSEWHERE! I will never do business with them.

Not a bad spot - definitely the best (and only) place for numismatic items in Bangor. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Selection is rather small, and there is a lack of high-ticket items displayed. Next time I visit, I will ask if they keep those better items out back or locked up elsewhere. Two young men were working the shop. Neither seemed especially knowledgeable - but were willing to try to look things up using reference books and the internet, which was greatly appreciated. Prices were a little high, and they didn't give me much room to negotiate. I left empty handed, but a casual coin collector will definitely get a lot of value out of this place. Higher end, big ticket buyers, and resellers may not be fruitful in their efforts here. However, I definitely recommend checking it out for common and uncommon coins, as well as interesting books, Maine paraphernalia and political tokens/pins.

I visited Maritime International about 2 weeks ago to offload a small amount of silver and coinage. These gentlemen were not only knowledgeable but we're so comfortable to talk to. They made me feel welcomed, not an inconvenience as some other local places I've been. I feel welcomed reached a completely fair deal and for once I feel NOT taken advantage of. I'm actually bringing my entire monetary collection to them to be authenticated and evaluate. I trust them 100% and will only do my business there from now on! 5 stars is not enough!

I came across this shop by accident whilst exploring downtown Bangor which was where my hotel was. What an absolute delight of a surprise. There was so much fascinating stuff and the staff were really nice and didn't seem to mind me browsing. As with every Bangor person I met, friendliness and warmth is simply the default. As a Brit there was so much fascinating US memorabilia. It was a little bit like being in a museum! I always travel with as little luggage as possible which meant I had no real room to put stuff other than something small which was a huge shame as I could have filled a suitcase! If you're looking for keepsakes, gifts or something different to the usual stuff we all buy to take home, pop into here. There's something to fit every budget and everything's interesting.
