Run down, terrible location. Rather argue than test something I bring in

Super sketchy experience. Took some scrap gold (10 kt/14kt mix of single earrings, broken pieces, etc) to sell. I had previously sold some silver to the owner (Alex). I was okay with that transaction. I will not be going back after my most recent visit. Red flag #1--I was never asked for my ID with my previous transaction. They didn't even fill out the attesting/tracking form all other gold buyers fill out--just handed me some cash. This should have been a huge flashing sign not to return. Red tag #2--The guy helping me this time was talking slow and kept shaking. I am not sure if he was on pain medication or what but he did not look well. Red flag #3--Dude asked me if I cleaned houses? Apparently he confused me with another customer he suspected stole jewelry? Uhhh...no. I make crafts from used jewelry (that I buy in bulk) and sometimes come across gold. I definitely am not built to survive a prison sentence for fencing stolen goods. Red flag #4--I watched as he struggled to test every item. At one point, I noticed he wasn't even making contact with the item to file it--he was filing the stone πŸ₯΄ After pouring an excessive amount of acid on each item--and smelling the fumes--he concluded several items were "fake"/"plated. They were marked and I had tested them myself so I knew they were real. I didn't argue about it though and just put the items back in a bag. Red flag #5 After about 30 minutes of wasting acid, he separated one 10k ring (I think he mixed up the platinum band I had with a 10k ring) and weighed the rest of the 10k/14k (plus the platinum band) TOGETHER. It was a little over 10g. He offered me...$200. Ummm...what? The guy gave me some bogus story about scrap value... they don't resell just melt...blah blah blah. I looked up the scrap value before I went and knew it was about $44/g for 10k. I wasn't looking for full scrap value but there was no way he was convincing me that gold was a flat $20/g. I am not sure if he was trying to skim a little while Alex wasn't there-- or if he legitimately had no idea what he was talking about-- but I told him I would try somewhere else. As I was leaving he attempted to gaslight me with "no one else is going to give you more so I will honor the $200 when you come back." Sure, buddy. I drove about 7 miles and sold everything (including the items he said were "fake") for just under $400--took about 10 minutes to separate the 10k from the 14k, test a few items, weigh each pile/ apply the appropriate scrap value, show ID/attest, and walk out with the cash.

Definitely don’t go here ! The guy is always in his feelings . I seen him turn away so much gold and silver because he has no control of his feelings at all . He’s more worried about looking like a king to his customers and disrespecting them while expecting respect in return . If you’re the owner , you’re losing a lot of money due to that man’s attitude .

Had 2014 Panda 1 oz. Silver coin to sell. Call them , they say they want to look at it. They can't quote above a pawn shop price , reputable buyers get 6 percent of spot melt price. They are rip offs , and can't do business without calling 'the Boss". STAY AWAY.

Brought in a piece to have checked out he did his tests and said he pretty sure it's real and put it on the scale and said if everything is good you got $380 for this.Tell you what I'll do I'm gonna give you $40 deposit come back Wednesday I'm gonna have my guy use his gun to make sure it's real if not give me the deposit back if it's good more money your way. After I got home I checked online to see what my gold weighed I knew I had half a carrier love bracelet so based my math off the smallest one and realized I was being offered only 45 percent of value this was after I went back on Wednesday and he gave me $280 not $380 and said I miss heard him even tried to say it was written on the envelope when I gave my info which I wrote and that number was not on there I said pull up the footage then and that was to his advantage not working.I even came back after he paid me because I had wrote myself a reminder that Monday to go back Wednesday.Be careful do your research. I am currently homeless I scrap and from time to time have brought things to them or asked if they had work. After this experience with the guy Alex knowing my situation he ran outside after me and said if you have a problem or think I treated you fairly knowing I wasn't going to have it said bring me back what I paid you and I'll give your stuff back.Which I knew was a lie cause his partner had told me that my stuff was already long gone.
