I have an old and delicate family ring that had some loose stones and material. I went to Kensington Jewelers after it was recommended by a neighborhood spot I like in DC -- they were recommended because they have specialty tools for a laser welder repair. Mardik was friendly and informative, and did a great job on a difficult and delicate repair. I felt comfortable and at ease with the information and communication they gave. I appreciate having a trusted location to bring such a precious item!

Very nice owner. He is good for cleaning and simple services like clasp replacement, but I would not recommend him for heavy jewelry alteration. I brought in my Cuban link chain to remove six links. He warned there would be marks, which I agreed to. The chain looked fine at pickup with only minor marks. After wearing it once, I lost three stones on the exact link where the work was done. It appears metal tip pliers were used instead of nylon tip tools, leaving marks to the back and damaging the stone settings in the front and causing the stones to fall out.

I went to Kensington Jewelers to inquire about making a custom designed ring with some heirloom pieces of jewelry. Mardik was so helpful in recommending options for the ring design. He was able to finish my ring sooner than I expected and I love the end result! Mardik also fixed an heirloom pendant for me and put it on a necklace.
