I brought one ounce silver bars. Silver's roughly $50 an ounce he offered me $15 an ounce and when I said that's very very low he told me to shut up and get out. When I said okay I'm sorry for upsetting you he threw something at me.

Make sure you check the silver you buy from there. I got some bars and rounds a few times from there. Recently with silver at the price it was over $110 per Troy ounce I went to trade a few and they were not what I paid for. Caveat emptor.

The owner of this place gives off classic Baltimore curmudgeon vibes continuing a tradition notoriously exemplified by Abe Sherman’s newsstand near Lexington Market. If you browsed too long Abe would bark at you, “ are you buying or reading, if you’re reading, go to the library.” It was a rite of passage to get chastised by Abe but his selection of foreign papers and magazines was unrivaled. When the AB offered me a price for some gold and I declined he transformed from pleasant to bitter without any of Abe’s rizz. I didn’t care about that but when another dealer offered me 4 times what AB offered ( a few days later with only a minimal bump in the spot price) I realized he was trying to take advantage of me. So buyer beware! Cranky curmudgeonly behavior has its allure but only if combined with fair dealing.
