This guy is a legend

The owner of the shop is a great example of why this hobby is dying. Very impatient and rude Horrible customer service made me not want to give him the money in my pocket and I walked out empty-handed. This guy needs to understand that he owns a coin shop and we have different kinds of customers and needs to be accommodating to all of them. Severely playing into the stereotype of the grumpy old man in the coin shop. Sorry to say this is a pass for me.

Wonderful, friendly manager.. I bought gold there last week and couldn’t ask for better service. No problems, good communications.

I’m here to counter any negatives - this coin shop is a treasure, and the owner operator Harvey is a wealth of knowledge. He’s salty for sure, but like any local shop experts - one must give respect to get it. My son and I went in, and there was another customer (it’s a small counter space)…so I demonstrated how to be patient and conspicuous (so as to not be seen as a theft threat)…soon it was our turn and he was great. Swapped stories. Showed us everything I requested. He’s been in business since 1970 - so if he doesn’t move fast enough for some customers, maybe get a book on Courtesy & Respect before going negative here.

Knowlegable and trustworthy- Harvey, the owner, is certainly knowledge of coins. He was direct about the value of items left to me by a family member and paid immediately upon pick up of the collection. The impressive part of the interaction was that Harvey called me after he was back in his shop to say that he had found additional valuable coins under a velvet box insert and he was sending me an additional check for their value. That is a trustworthy trustworthy business person!

Called to ask if they sold 90% constitutional silver. His response was "I think so...we don't sell a lot of it." I then asked what he was selling it for. His response was "You're going to have to come in, because I'm not going to throw out numbers over the phone. You're just going to call another shop and go to them if they're a nickel cheaper." Yes, when it comes to junk 90% silver, I'm looking strictly for lowest cost, because quality doesn't matter. And if you won't treat a first-time potential customer with respect, I will not give you the courtesy of making the 75-minute drive to your shop, just to be disappointed.
