Charles was a really wonderful choice when I was looking for an appraisal. Not only is he friendly and kind, but he was prompt with responding back to me and was flexible with scheduling an appointment. He was able to provide me with not only an appraisal, but spent time explaining to me details of why my items were valued at what they were, as well as why items I brought to him had no value. It was clear to me that he has a deep understanding of this. My knowledge base around how things are assessed is now expanded from the short time in talking to Charles. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an appraiser. Thank you Charles!

Charles has appraised and purchased several coins I inherited. He was pleasant and professional. He answered all of my questions thoroughly, even about coins he didn't intend to purchase, and was upfront about values and his percentage. I would definitely use his services again

Charles was a consummate professional who could not have been more gracious and helpful when I approached him about appraising my childhood coin collection. He charged a very fair rate for an hour of his expertise, without the least bit of grumbling about amateurs (something I've encountered from other numismatists when I inquired about a possible appraisal in the past), and we sat down and flipped through the hundreds of coins in the collection. In the space of that hour, Charles quickly picked out the (unfortunately, not literal!) gold from the dross, explained why the valuable coins were valuable and why the unexceptional coins were unexceptional, and gave me a final appraisal number that seemed right-on; not too optimistic nor too pessimistic. He also recommended that I get one special coin (which I didn't even know was special) professionally graded by a third-party service, and handled the grading submission and shipping process for me. His enthusiasm for his profession is profound, and he never exerted the least pressure on me to sell him any of my coins, or buy any of his. I highly recommend Charles as a resource for anyone interested in numismatics, whether it's a long-forgotten hobby or a long-pursued passion.

Honest, knowledgeable, professional. I've bought and sold to Charles and walked away satisfied every time. You're not going to take advantage of him AND he's not going to take advantage of you... the essence of fairness. I've often just had great conversations with Charlie with no transaction in the offing and I nearly always leave coin shows mulling over our talks on the long ride home. A real multi-faceted treasure!

I think I could sum up my experience with Charles as relaxing and pleasant. He exudes trust and his low key approach is both educational and rewarding. I like others allowed him to appraise things, in this case some silver flatware. I never felt pressured and after contemplating for a day went back and sold him the entire collection. I will likely conduct business with him in the future. Yiou are in good hands with Charles.
