Very authentic. The reading by Emmett was thorough and accurate.
I love it got some items i love New Orleans
Chill place, had to go in because of the name and to buy a Voodoo stone.
This was such a cool place. My daughter got a reading and so many cool things to look at. I will cherish my voodoo doll for years to come.
I was looking for a particular bracelet. The staff member didn’t have the faintest idea what I was talking about. Completely disinterested and was more concerned about being on her phone. The other staff member was no better. I had just come from the amazing authentic voodoo shop and this one was suggested as a place I could obtain this bracelet. In the end I had to google it to explain what it was. Something she should’ve known. Totally clueless and wasn’t connected to the shop or anything in it at all. The items available to buy were very interesting and it’s such a shame. It’s a miracle if they ever sell anything with such sales staff more concerned about their phones than their customers. Very disappointing
I’m gonna be honest. The store was like eh. To me. Was in NOLA just a few hours, needed to get my friend something “spooky” thought yeah, voodoo shop why not. Mainly, it was just various voodoo dolls. I don’t know what I was expecting but a little more BUT staff was cool. She helped me find a spooky-ish voodoo doll. I didn’t want to break the bank, think about $40+ I dig magnets from my travels, so I got that. And the lively security officer I asked about food. Hey thank you for going above and beyond helping me find some local soul food! It’s the little things like that They said no photos, so I respected that (for once hahaha)
It was an old building but nothing historical was provided. The items for purchase were all mass produced trinkets from Temu, mostly still inside their little plastic baggies. Photography inside was prohibited and an employee shouted very loudly at anyone taking pics. Yikes. All in all, it was an interesting and small shop to spend 15 mins of your time if you’re already nearby.
Awesome shop, every time I’m in town I’ll come by and pick something up from here. Definitely look up the history of Marie Laveau, she is the New Orleans voodoo queen. You can also visit her grave(for a fee), the cemetery where she rests in walking distance. As for respect for the store, I won’t show you any photos except for my favourite magnet from the store.
