I went in to sell some silver and they were super busy, but it didn't take long for them to address me and get me helped. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful, and their offer was also more than reasonable. Honestly it was more than I expected it to be, so I was happy with the transaction. I browsed for a bit while I was waiting for assistance and they have a decent selection of coins to choose from.

First of all let me state this is my opinion of this company and in no way shape or form is it meant to disparage or shame this company at all, just merely informing the general public about my experience. So this past Saturday, I went into Phil's to sell some of my 80% silver Canadian coins, not much about $6.75 face value. The young man who helped me had to run to the back to price a few other items besides the Canadian silver( 4 goldbacks and a 1952 Canadian quarter that was graded) Now when selling silver to a coin shop you have to understand the market, as it does fluctuate daily. Since this was a Saturday and the market was closed, I had a very good idea about what the melt was for this Canadian silver(i.e. 1 Canadian silver quarter melts for $9.62) or 38/37 times face value. I also understand that a coin shop has to make a profit, so they have to buy a certain percentage back of melt in order for the business to be profitable. So after a few minutes of looking at his computer the young man came back with a price of $245.00 for everything. Now when I figured the melt value at home, I came up with a number closer to $280 to $300 for just the silver, not counting the goldbacks, so their price was actually closer to $185 melt value for the Canadian. I asked the young man to speak with the gentleman who gave him those numbers(Josh I think), but he was busy helping another customer. Then a woman, who's name I didn't get said she would come over to help me. She explained to me that their refiner( a company who buys silver for melting ) was not buying silver from them because of the demand in the market, and therefore they had to adjust their buy prices. Now I have been a coin collector for over 40 years, and I have never, ever heard this from any dealer. To put this in layman's terms, if Ford motor company got a call from their steel supplier, and the steel supplier said "Ford we cannot send you any more steel for the foreseeable future", how long do you think it would take Ford to find another supplier? About 2 seconds. So in conclusion, if Phil's coins refiner is not buying silver, then why are they not finding a different refiner? There are about half a dozen companies(refiners) in the Midwest they could reach out to. You are in the business of buying and selling gold and silver, and if you cannot buy at a fair price, then your customers will go elsewhere.

Very easygoing, quick, and so much better to deal with than the other coin dealer on the east side of town. I will never visit the aforementioned again. Thank you for your respect and recognition that you are worthy of doing business with, by the way they didn't try to lowball me either.

This is the best place in town, compared to the east side, Phil's pays more and has a way better selection of all types of metals, always has gold and Morgans plus all different coins and Bullion. Plus they always can pay cash! Not a check, The staff is always courteous, you can search thru the constutional coins, you have the best Morgan and other collectors type coin selection compared by far than out east ever had. Plus Phil's always checks there metals for being accurate. They don't sell fakes! It's your insurance policy when you buy from a reparable dealer. You know it's real. That's important. If you sort your items before you go there it's much faster for you and it's better for your own records. Plus rarer coins are easier to find. Give Phil's a try you won't be disappointed.

I want to give a shout out to Phil's Coins for its professional, friendly service and its fair pricing. With gold knocking on the $4,500 price door and silver approaching $80, Phil's is inundated with customers and phone calls daily. I've stopped in several times, and I have been completely impressed with the staff and helpful assistance. I had an opportunity to seek a few bids for my silver, including one with a major dealer on OKC, and Phil's offered the best price on every item. And, the pricing they offer has remained consistent. Thanks Phil's Coins, and keep it going!
