Lost Dutchman Rare Coins / Indiana State Coin Show

Came in for something simple today. Wanted to sell a 1 ounce gold coin. We agreed on a sale price. Then he said "I will write you a check" That is the wrong answer. If you cannot pay cash for gold stay closed. Is the check going to be bad? Is the check going to be fraudulent ? I should not have to take that chance.

This shop is great. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great prices and no pressure or judgement on what you are buying. Solid deals on Silver just over spot with Very high quality items. I’ve visited this LCS twice now and I will definitely return. Thank you for the Solid deals. Highly recommended for your precious metals investment.

I sold a lot of stuff while being sick. Not their fault. What will happen to them and this industry is they are putting a bad spin and they are essentially hustlers at this place. Not their fault with me because I am ill and I needed some funds. They took full advantage of it. This will only cause me not to ever go there again sadly and I can only wonder how many others are the same. For Precious Metals to be relevant again it will require to remove businesses like these in the future. I understand perctanges but they low balled me on purpose thinking I have had the energy when I was only in need... again not their fault but they are not honest sadly.

Absolutely fantastic shop! The sales staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. The selection is fascinating and I highly recommend visiting if you are a coin hobbyist or are just starting out. Thanks Spencer and the rest of the outstanding staff!

This has been my go-to LCS ever since I stopped in for the 1st time back in June 2025. Their inventory for precious metals and misc. rare collectibles (includes more than just coins) is superb!! They always have a wide variety of silver rounds, coins, numismatics, constitutional, Mint Sets, etc. for my kids and I to poke through, which we love since we are all silver bugs personally. Their prices are ALWAYS better than random eBay sellers or any online bullion dealer (even the major ones), too, for any pieces we want to buy, regardless of what the live spot prices are. There was also one occasion where I (sadly) had to sell off a very small portion of my silver stack along with some scrap gold... and the buyback offer I received for what I brought in was more than fair!! I did a partial trade/sell at the same time and walked out with 6 new coins I wanted, as well as a check for the payment towards the remainder of what I was selling to them. All of that was finished in under 15 minutes on top of that! The owner, Matt, and his staff, especially Spencer, are both honest, delightful, helpful, overall awesome people and always make sure your customer experience in their local coin shop is nothing short of top tier. My family and I 10/10 recommend Lost Dutchman Rare Coins, so definitely check out this great small business. Support local and thank me later!!! Appreciate you guys and see you again very soon, for more shiny preciouses per usual.

I have a one dollar coin from 1861 and I would like to know if it's worth anything.

5 star review

Brought some paper money here. They offered me $50 for this. Which was less than half of what they sell for. Midwest estate buyers offered me $90. The rest of the paper money I had the total was $630. Midwest estate buyers offered me $800. Don't what kind of scams they're running at this place but I would avoid them and not go here.

My husband and I stopped in to purchase a coin for our nephew's birthday. The staff were friendly, the inventory was amazing, and we were able to find exactly what we needed. We will be back.

Friendly staff. Straightforward approach. Offers made are fair. You decide what’s right for you. Good selection.

I’m new to collecting precious metals and this place made me feel really welcome. I enjoyed speaking with Collin and learning what I could from him. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Will definitely be back!

Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Gave a fair price for silverware I inherited and were gracious enough to appraise old coins I wasn’t interested in selling. Lots of cool stuff to look at while you wait! Didn’t feel rushed, and would definitely go back to buy or sell.

Great experience. I went to get a rough idea of valuation of my late father-in-law's collection for estate purposes. Bruce gave me no nonsense values and good advice. But I was even more impressed with how Bruce treated a young customer who was in before me. The guy was probably around 10 years old and was obviously just getting started in coin collecting. He picked out a couple of what must have been starter coins, then a $50 silver coin. Bruce offered him a free copy of a collector's guide, but he said he already had it. When his mom paid, Bruce took $50 for the silver coin, but gave him the starter coins free along with a bag full of what must have been interesting but face value coins. What a great thing to do. Bruce is obviously both a consummate professional and eager to encourage the next generation of coin collectors. I would go out of my way to give him my business.
