If I could give zero stars, I most certainly would. Very rude disrespectful. I don’t know how the business is even running when you’re that rude to customers. Not helpful. I guess I say go there if you want to be treated badly. I would never recommend this place to anybody anyway when asked which items are marked I said I didn’t know that’s why I was there to find out because not all gold and silver has marks they want it separated. How are you supposed to separate it when you don’t know I wouldn’t recommend going to this place. I can’t believe the business is even open and you can treat customers that way.

Always greet you when you come in even if you’re waiting in line. Friendly and easy to speak to. Came in dirty from work and was still treated the same as the sharply dressed gentlemen prior to me

Sat for over forty five minutes to only give up and leave. I was left to interrupt their conversation amongst themselves as sign that they were not interested in my box. I hand six otter customers come in and out; they had buzzed into the building two or three other customers. I do not know about these people. UPDATE: Yes, I did and I understand being busy in a small space idle chitchat was happening. I’m sorry this has to come out in such a way.

DO NOT BUY OR SELL HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SAFETY!!!!!!!!!! it may be family run, and or/busy, BUT. It is without a doubt unprofessional, and a dangerous place to sell your gold. They will leave people with THOUSANDS of dollars in gold locked outside, waiting underneath flashing sell gold signs that just scream ROB ME I HAVE GOLD . On top of that, they have sketchy hours and horrible communication, they pay ZERO DOLLARS MORE for anything. Save yourself. Save your money, go to any other store in town, where at least you sit inside, or are able to be alone or protect your valuables… Edit to readers….. if you have never sold precious metals or coins before, or if you are elderly, just don’t go here. There’s many others. I have no skin in this, I just wouldn’t want it to be my grandmother. So don’t send yours either. There’s lots of hang around types there and it doesn’t feel safe. I sent my uncle a week later to go try and just buy some silver coins to experiment. He also was met by a locked door and the exact same situation. Response to owner below : just politely no. It was busy and it was cold that day. But I would love to correct you. There was a button. It was pressed and I waited. Then pulled my car up, i then Tried again, this time catching the eye of a man at a desk, to get a dismissive wave with the back of his hand…… then I just sat and observed. the same thing happened to several people like me. While a few people without question are let in immediately. While sitting for roughly an hour ( during which I called the business twice to ask if possibly it is appointment only). I had time to make this review after feeling sketched out at a place as a first time buyer…. I left a review, after seeing that anyone who writes a negative review you pounce on immediately. I however am not the random person selling grandmas stolen chain for whatever you give in melt:

Wish I was still in the des moines area and able to utilize Capital City and their wonderful owners. Ever since the first day I walked in and met Craig back in 2012 I've only taken my business relating to the services provided at this establishment to him because he runs things with integrity and honest knowledge (which he will gladly share with you) I miss you guys and promise to stop in next time I'm in the area.

Amazing experience! The team is very professional, friendly and inviting. They paid a very fair price for my silver coins, higher than the offers I found from online dealers and it saved me the hassle of shipping my coins. I bought some other coins in exchange and the premium they charged was also more than fair and lower than expected. I will definitely be dealing with them again if I have the chance.
